Johnny Depp sets his sights on $1.2M bar owned by Paul Hollywood's fiancee after UK move
SOMERSET, UK: After leaving the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and moving to the idyllic and peaceful English countryside, Johnny Depp is now interested in owning a $1.2M pub owned by Paul Hollywood's fiancee. The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star, 59, is reportedly highly-interested to buy the Chequers Inn, a Grade-II listed pub.
Melissa Spalding, 38, who is engaged to 'The Great British Bake Off' judge, 57, is reportedly selling the establishment, situated in the town of Smarden. According to The Sun, Depp is a "a huge fan" of the establishment, which very close to his $16.2M 'Downton Abbey'-esque mansion. His close friend and pub regular, illustrator Ralph Steadman, told him that the establishment was up for grabs.

Johnny Depp 'adores' the pub
Sources close to the actor said, "Depp adores the pub and has done for years. Johnny loves the history and has spoken before about wanting to buy a pub. It's right in the heart of the English countryside."
"They've just got a new menu out which is a really top-notch posh menu – the likes of carrots done in charcoal, etcetera. They've hired a new chef and he brought his whole team with him," sources added.
Johnny Depp ready to play Louis XV
On the work front, Depp is making a comeback to the big screen with 'Jeanne du Barry', a French-biographical movie in which he plays King Louis XV. He stars along with Maiwenn, the director of the movie.
MEAWW had earlier reported that Maiwenn was accused of assaulting a journalist and spitting on his face. On March 7, a police complaint was filed accusing the director of "aggression." The complaint alleged that she approached journalist Edwy Plenel's table at a restaurant, grabbed him by the hair and spat in his face without saying anything.
