LONDON, UK: David Schwimmer was recently named as one of the participants in the latest Celebrity 'The Great British Bake Off' for the cause ‘Stand Up To Cancer'. The 'Friends' star, has now shared the emotional connection for joining the show in an intimate interview.  Apparently, Schwimmer considers fighting against cancer important because his grandmother and his ex-wife's mother both passed away from cancer, while his sister is a cancer survivor. "I am just grateful I can help in any small way raise more awareness", he added.

The 56-year-old further said, "I am here to have fun. I am here to raise money for a great charity. It's a great cause and I happen to be a massive fan of the show." He not only lost family members to the deadly disease, but his ‘Friends’ co-star James Michael Tyler, who played the character of easygoing coffee shop worker Gunther also passed away while battling stage 4 prostate cancer, as per The Mirror.
