Johnny Depp STUNS fans as he channels a 'clean-shaven' Captain Jack Sparrow to perfection

Johnny Depp had fans gushing after he slipped into character as Captain Jack Sparrow while meeting them recently.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star reportedly met with a fan and transformed into his iconic character with utmost ease. The actor, 59, was seen chatting with the fan using his normal voice at first, but switched it up at a moment's notice and delivered Sparrow's characteristic tones and slurred speech patterns. Some weren't sure whether it was actually Depp as he was clean-shaven, but his voice was rather unmistakable.

As reported by Unilad, the lack of a beard did throw many off at the start, but people soon realized he was the real deal once he started doing his act.

The fan footage was first shared on TikTok, where fans heaped praise on the actor for getting into character and making their day. One wrote they loved "how he can go into character so fast," while another noted how he "slipped right into the spirit of Captain Jack Sparrow." Someone else called Depp a "wonderful guy" and another said he "looks happy" to be interacting with fans and bringing them happiness.

Depp might not return as the pirate on the big screen again, but he seems to have no problem slipping back into Captain Jack's boots. The acclaimed actor has often been spotted putting on the character's voice and mannerisms while interacting with fans. Occasionally, he's even gotten into costume and made special appearances, once famously surprising guests at Disneyland when they went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Those who had the chance to see him described it as a "surreal moment." Depp later joked on the Graham Norton Show how he got "all of the iPhones in the world" in response. The veteran thespian has also worn his iconic costume to visit sick children in the hospital and bring them joy.

MEAWW previously reported how Depp sparked a flurry of rumors that he's had plastic surgery after revealing his new clean-shaven look. Some people believed he had lost a lot of his earlier sharper features and looked "fuller" somehow. Others speculated that his past addictions to drugs and alcohol were to blame for his current appearance. Johnny admitted in December 2019, "It has been well reported and I have been open about my challenges with alcoholism and addiction throughout my life." 

TikToker and plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn analyzed Johnny's facial features in May. "There are rumors he has had hair transplants but it's not really obvious. And if he has done it's quite modest. His eyes don't appear to have changed. He may have had some filler injections into his cheeks but again pretty conservative. His nose looks like it might be a touch shorter so rhinoplasty is a possibility but I doubt it. So I would say Johnny Depp is pretty real and not sus," he stated.
