Beaming Johnny Depp puts his lighter side on display as he clicks selfies with fans before NY gig
NEW YORK, NEW YORK CITY: Johnny Depp displayed his joyful spirit as he happily clicked selfies with fans ahead of his show in New York on Saturday, October 8.
The ‘Fantastic Beasts' actor, who is currently on a US tour with rocker friend Jeff Beck, gave a mind-boggling performance at Capitol Theatre in New York City. Before the gig, the 59-year-old actor greeted his fans, who waited for him outside the venue. He was even seen interacting with young fans and treating them with autographs.

For the gig, Depp channeled his inner Jack Sparrow and opted for a funky yet typical rock star look. He was seen wearing a pair of blue reflective sunglasses, complemented with a classy blue oversized baker boy hat. He opted for a layered look with a white shirt under a black cardigan, a casual black jacket, and black jeans. The typical black jacket added drama to Depp's look with cream detailing on the collar panels, sleeves, and front. He accessorized his look with some silver neckpieces and a black and white thin necktie.
On the other hand, his mate Beck looked dapper in a short-sleeved white shirt under a black and white vest. Later in the evening, the two joined hands to rock the whole venue and gave their fans a night to remember. While Depp perfectly handled the mood, Beck, who has been inducted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, handled the stage in front.

For the unversed, Beck, who is considered one of the greatest rockers of the industry, has won eight Grammy awards, been nominated into the top 100 guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone, and played an expansive list of hits across many different genres. Depp and Becker, who first met back in 2016, became good friends while bonding over cars and music. Taking their friendship a notch higher, they started playing together in 2019 and have toured in Europe ahead of their first US tour.
This musical tour of ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean' actor came after his long legal battle with his former wife Amber Heard. The actor's beaming smile, which he flashed outside the venue, has become a common sight for the fans since his win at Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia earlier this year.
A court ruled that Heard had defamed him in an article and ordered her to pay Depp $10 million in compensation and $5 million in punitive damages. The jury also awarded Heard $2 million in her countersuit against Depp.
While Depp is enjoying his time embracing his musical side, Heard was spotted in Mallorca, with it emerging that she's trying to 'escape the spotlight by living under a pseudonym in a luxury villa'.
