SCENT OF VICTORY: Sales of Johnny Depp endorsed Dior Sauvage soar, fans say 'best investment ever'
While the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is finally over, the demand for Depps’ Dior Sauvage has shot by 50 percent during the proceedings of his defamation trial. It has, in fact, strengthened the image of both parties.
When a few decided to shut their doors on Depp, including Disney studios; Dior stood by the 58-year-old actor during his legal battle against his ex-wife. And the result is visible. The sales for Dior’s Sauvage have spiked tremendously. So far, it has been so successful that it is sold out in both the United States and United Kingdom.

Even though, many have called it a smart move to increase sales; the brand did not appear to have made any public statements yet. The Dior promotional campaign currently circulating, shows the actor strumming the strings of a guitar with the song ‘Wild Thing’ in the background, while a group of wolves gathers around him in the desert.
Currently, Depp’s fans are busy praising Dior for their bravery in standing by the actor. One of the fans tweeted, "Yay for #Dior cant say the same for #Disney. So proud of Johnny Depp #JusticeForJohnnyDepp," while another user said, "SCREAMING, CRYING, THROWING UP. Just got ULTA beauty magazine in the mail. Page 39 is a "Dior Sauvage" advertisement. LITERALLY MIGHT BUY TO SHOW MY SUPPORT. HE COULDN'T BE MORE BEAUTIFUL."

History of Johnny Depp with Dior
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor became the face of Dior’s Sauvage in 2015. It was Dior’s first new cologne in 10 years. Johnny Depp was chosen as the face because of "his authentic allure with tattooed arms and rock-jewelry-covered hands,” said the brand in Dior Mag. Adding further, they mentioned, "The enthralling brand film sees the new brand ambassador, Hollywood hero Johnny Depp, embrace a dramatic and mysterious look as he escapes the city to bury his jewelry in the desert. The creative perfectly achieves the balance of raw wildness with masculine sophistication that the fragrance emulates.”
In 2019, one of Sauvage's commercials, "We Are the Land," received criticism for its message and portrayal of Native Americans. But as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter, Depp responded by saying that he has Native American heritage and he was adopted by the Comanche tribe ahead of playing Tonto in 'The Lone Ranger.'
