Where is ‘Grease’ cast now? Late Olivia Newton-John played Sandy Olsson in the hit musical
Way before 'tick, tick...BOOM!' or even 'High School Musical' marked themselves as successful musicals, 'Grease' had already shaken the world back in 1978. It's one of those musicals that even if you haven't seen it, you know the lyrics to it. With a lowly budget of $6 million, the film grossed almost $366.2 million at the box office breaking every possible record there is. Director Randal Kleiser brought his cast together and delivered a memorable project all over giving us characters like Sandy, Danny, Frenchy, Roger, and many more. Some actors managed to keep the flame lit, and some fell down like Eddie Deezen.
Following two teenagers from different worlds and different needs, 'Grease' was responsible for pushing the careers of John Travolta, Stockard Channing, Didi Conn, Jeff Conaway, and the voice of Australia Olivia Newton-John, who passed away on Monday, August 8, after a 30-year-long battle with breast cancer. Travolta and Barry Pearl who plays Doody in 'Grease' paid their tributes to the late singer who was a people's favorite. In the loving memory of Olivia, let's see where the cast of the hit musical is, almost after 44 years.

Where is the cast of 'Grease' now?
Olivia Newton-John - Sandy Olsson
Olivia went on to have a rocking career, both in movies and music. While box office collection was usually good news to her, she was no stranger to Billboard success as well. She went on to star in another musical called 'Xanadu' in 1980 before ultimately collaborating with John Travolta again in 1983 on 'Two of a Kind'. To boast her musical accolades, the four-time Grammy awards winner had 26 studio albums, 6 live albums, 14 compilation albums, and 6 soundtracks to her name. John Travolta - Danny Zuko
Nobody could have enjoyed the peak of their career like John Travolta did. Playing Danny Zuko in 'Grease' launched him into a space of infinite opportunities. He seemed to have cashed some classics like 'Face/Off' and 'Pulp Fiction' regaining his star power back. However, he seemed to have lost his touch as per The Ringer because his 2018 flick 'Gotti', which was promoted tirelessly and even included his wife Kelly Preston, flopped and was a disaster. Ever since 2020, Travolta has been avoiding media coverage. His wife of 30 years, Preston died due to breast cancer.
We never get tired of this grin. Happy birthday John Travolta! pic.twitter.com/dNZaH9dKjR

Stockard Channing - Betty Rizzo
Betty Rizzo was easily one of the most popular characters in 'Grease'. While many can argue that her success was not mainstream, per se, she was, however, renowned in the theatre community as she was a regular on Broadway. Her next big move came with playing First Lady Abbey Bartlet in the NBC television series 'The West Wing'. She even won an Emmy award for the same. Channing appeared in movies like 'The Fortune' (1975), 'The Big Bus' (1976), 'Heartburn' (1986), 'Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar' (1995), and Woody Allen's 'Anything Else' (2003). She also played the recurring role of Veronica Loy on the CBS drama 'The Good Wife' (2012–16). Over and all, she kept herself busy.

Eddie Deezen - Eugene
Deezen was known for playing Eugene in the hit musical. Over the years, he found his niche in the voiceover industry, and his most remarkable gig came with voicing Mandark on 'Dexter's Laboratory'. With over 92 credits, Deezen was just starting his career at the time of 'Grease'. He was recently connected with a Maryland nursing home burglary but was found mentally incompetent to stand trial. According to a court order, he must remain in the custody of the Maryland Department of Health as per TMZ. As per Page Six, he has been arrested a number of times in recent years on charges of trespassing, burglary, and assaulting a police officer.
Didi Conn - Frenchy
The famous school dropout, she was the nightmare of every 90s parent. Just like many of her co-stars, she has been consistent with her career as she went on to voice the titular doll in 'Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure'. Another notable credit in her name is the role of Stacy Jones in 'Shining Time Station'. Her most recent credit was in 2022 itself in 'The Oh Gees' and she also appeared on the dance reality show 'Dancing On Ice', getting praise for being active in her 60s as well.

Barry Pearl - Doody
Doody is the adorable dork with a guitar, played by Barry Pearl. After 'Grease', he too split his time with Hollywood and Broadway as he starred in 'Happy Days the Musical'. Apart from that, his television appearance did not fall short as he went on to appear in shows like 'Beverly Hills', '90210', 'Baywatch', 'Criminal Minds', etc Didi Conn and Pearl, both returned for 'Grease: Live' where he played Mr Stan Weaver.
Recently, he paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John while on news talking about his last message to the star. He said, "I took it upon myself to write to her, as we would occasionally share emails amongst each other - [with] the other Grease-er pals too. She would always sign her emails, 'With love and light, Olivia'. And I wrote to her - basically if you read between the lines she would be able to tell that I knew there was something going on - and I basically said that, 'On your journey forward, simply know that you, Olivia, are the love and the light.'"
