John Legend talks about wife Chrissy Teigen and friendship with Kanye on new episode of 'Big Boy’s Neighborhood'
On Wednesday's episode of Fuse Music's Big Boy's Neighborhood, John Legend stops by the studio to talk about his friendship with Kanye West, meeting his wife Chrissy Teigen and his upcoming holiday music.
As the teaser clip for the episode reveals, back when the Grammy and Oscar-winning musician was working on his 2004 breakout hit 'Ordinary People,' Kanye apparently gave him some advice he's glad he didn't take. "Kanye will admit this and we laugh about it every once and a while," Legend says in the conversation with Big Boy, "but he told me 'Ordinary People' wasn't really that great of a title for a song."
He also discusses Kanye's recent politically controversial statement, where he said '400 years of slavery sounded like a choice'. "I was trying to really educate him on what was the truth," Legend reveals. "That was all I could do at that moment. [I] was trying to explain to him what he was saying, and the implications of what he was saying were, and then he's a grown man. He's gonna do what he wants and say what he wants to say," Legend explains.
