'Dementia Joe' memes return after POTUS 'shakes hand with a ghost' after NC speech

President stuck his hand out to no one after his speech at Greensboro, North Carolina, where he also claimed he was a 'full professor' at UPenn

The sick dementia Joe Biden memes and jokes are back, after the President's latest gaffe on April 14, 2022. Biden was speaking in Greensboro, North Carolina, about the supply chain crisis when he sent attendees, and social media into shock with his post-speech behavior. He certainly looked lost for a minute, giving Republicans enough ammunition to push their case that Biden is mentally unfit to be President.

During his first press conference on March 26, Biden wandered away from the mic briefly. It wasn't the first incident, but that set the stage for repeated attacks on the President's abilities. Leading that charge is Rep. Ronny Jackson, the doctor to the former President. Jackson has routinely claimed Biden isn't "cognitively prepared" to be President, and as recently as February 2022 was one of the 38 GOP lawmakers to sign a letter requesting a cognitive test.

The White House has so far not responded to that letter, but it is certainly getting harder and harder to shrug off Biden's gaffes and antics. The incidents at Greensboro certainly didn't help matters, with the midterms fast approaching and the Democrats clearly on the backfoot. 

Biden claims he taught at UPenn, sticks hand out

During his speech, the President suddenly claimed he served as a "full professor" at the University of Pennsylvania for four years, but never actually did. Even Jill Biden never actually taught courses at the university, so it's unclear how Biden even made that claim. As if that wasn't worrying enough, after the speech, Biden turned and stuck his hand out as if to shake someone's hand. The only issue was that he was the only one on stage. 

He then appeared to mime a handshake, completely forgetting that he was alone on the podium. The President is then seen looking lost, slowly walking back, before taking the stairs to exit the podium. In the meantime, music plays in the background, indicating that the speech is over. Here's a look at the clip, as uploaded by The Daily Wire-

Suffice to say, it prompted a lot of concern, and anger amongst Republicans. They quickly took to social media to slam Biden's mental health, in many cases trolling him as well.

'How are you even in office?'

"I repeat, where are the White House and Biden family handlers whose job it is to make him look good? This is truly bizarre, unless they WANT him to look like a dementia patient," one GOPer said. Another trolled, "John Cena refuses to shake Joe Biden’s hand." A third commented, "I just watched a video clip of Joe Biden reaching out to shake the hand of the invisible man. What the hell is going on?"

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene chimed in, "Our @POTUS turned around and tried to shake hands with literally NO ONE standing there. This is incredibly embarrassing and HE IS LEADING OUR COUNTRY! Enough already! #ImpeachBiden." One user joked, "Joe Biden shakes hand with his imaginary friend. Shocks no one." A third tweeted to the President, "Watched a video of you trying to shake someone’s hand when no one was there, then wandering around looking lost after a speech. How are you even in office?"
