Joe Biden's presidency is underway and it does appear the ride has gotten bumpier already. News of his "dementia" continue to do the rounds, and there were two takeaways from the incident that happened while he delivered remarks on the coronavirus pandemic. The first was netizens and media reports talking about his "dementia" while the president on his part questioned Republican Congressman Chip Roy's patriotism as the latter profanely dismissed the instructions to wear a mask to prevent the spread of the virus.

"One Congressman pointed out, he used a very colorful term to say, ‘wearing a mask, I tell them to kiss my ear, I'm not going to wear a mask.' Well, guess what, not very American. The fact is, you want to be patriotic, you're gonna protect people," Biden said. One of the earlier moves by the new president was the impetus on wearing masks. He has been pressing Americans to wear masks so as to contain the spread. He was vocal in his criticism of Roy as he announced his administration intends to order 100 million more doses each of Pfizer Inc. and Moderna Inc.’s coronavirus vaccines.

The second part of the story was the focus media outlets kept on on Biden's dementia. The Gateway Pundit has been dishing out regular stories on the possible cognitive decline the 77-year-old is going through. It stated in its article: "A confused Biden mumbled to himself and grappled with his pen as he sat down to sign the orders — then he disappeared without answering questions. Joe Biden reappeared an hour later and struggled to make it through his Covid speech."

A clip of Biden mumbling through the speech also had Twitter users voicing their thoughts. "How many strokes has this guy had? I wouldn't trust him to take my kid to the store and he runs the country," read one of the tweets. This was seconded by another who wrote: "How is this dude actually the President? He seems completely lost every single time he speaks no matter what he's talking about." Another said: "Wow. If this is unedited video that’s truly sad. My heart hurts for this man that has no business being in his position."

Earlier, we reported about Biden and the possibility of a cognitive decline. According to WebMD, Biden, at the time of the physical examination was 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighed 178 pounds, and had a blood pressure of 128/84. The site also added that he has "a 79% chance of living through a first term and a 70% chance of surviving through a second term." Richard Dupee, MD, chief of geriatrics at Tufts Medical Center, reckoned that there would be a risk of cognitive decline that would come with age.

An individual over 65 has chances of Alzheimer’s disease or vascular dementia. Dupee attributed smoking, obesity, lack of exercise, and diabetes as the factors that could contribute to the decline. “If there were lifestyle issues that would increase the risk of vascular dementia for him, we'd know that,” Dupee explained. "That doesn't seem to be the case."

There have been multiple reports talking about Biden's issue prior to his role as the president.
