JK Rowling is back in the wizarding world, attending the opening of a new 'Fantastic Beasts' film, after being noticeably absent from the previous 'Harry Potter' reunion. The author and creator of the wizarding franchise wore a plunging violet gown to the world premiere of 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore' at The Royal Festival Hall in London on Tuesday, March 29.

The film, 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore' has had a tumultuous development, with lead Johnny Depp being replaced by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen following his libel troubles.

Harry Potter shame: Cast and studio's attempts to airbrush JK Rowling out of franchise FAIL

Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) assembles a motley army of wizards and witches to attempt and save the world in the third film in the Fantastic Beasts series. Newt's brother, Theseus Scamander (Callum Turner), professor Eulalie 'Lallie' Hicks (Jessica Williams), Minerva McGonagall (Fionna Glascott), and Muggle baker Jacob Scamander (Dan Fogler) make up Newt and Dumbledore's (Jude Law) team. The mishmash of characters will band together to fight on Gellert Grindelwald (Mikkelsen), a strong evil wizard seeking dominance over the wizarding realm.

The film's stars, including Redmayne and Law, walked the red carpet ahead of the premiere, posing for photos. Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the first Harry Potter film series, was also in attendance. Among those who have attacked Rowling for her views are Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and Evanna Lynch, who recently reunited for the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone without her.

JK Rowling's appearance at the premiere of 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore' was both exciting and surprising to many Twitter users. As one Twitter user put it, "Loving @jk_rowling looking slam glam at the Dumbledore premiere today."

Another user's tweet read, "#JKRowling at today’s Fantastic Beasts - The Secrets of Dumbledore premiere at Royal Festival Hall in London. She’s absolutely stunning!"

JK Rowling's work was praised by another Twitter user, who said: "The woman who created the Wizarding World in the place that is rightfully yours. @jk_rowling this universe exists thanks to you and your lessons go beyond the pages of your books, your attitudes show that."

One Twitter user expressed her admiration for JK Rowling and expressed her complete support for her, writing, "Queen J. K. Rowling At the world premiere of #SecretsOfDumbledore. We love you @jk_rowling. We are here for you!"

Since writing an essay on her website in July 2020 in which she argued that biological sex is genuine, Rowling has been bombarded with charges of transphobia. She also revealed that she had been a victim of "domestic abuse and sexual assault." She was labeled a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) after objecting to the term "people who menstruate."

In an extraordinary speech last week, war-mongering Putin attempted to compare himself to Rowling, alleging that the western world was 'cancelling' Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. "They [the West] cancelled JK Rowling, the children's author – her books are published all over the world – all because she didn't satisfy the demands of gender rights," Putin snarled. "They are trying to cancel out country – I'm talking the progressive discrimination of everything to do with Russia."

On Twitter, Rowling responded to the juvenile Russian dictator by sharing a BBC piece about imprisoned Putin critic Alexei Navalny and writing: "Critiques of Western cancel culture are possibly not best made by those currently slaughtering civilians for the crime of resistance, or who jail and poison their critics." She added the hashtag: "#IStandWithUkraine."
