Dick Clark Productions and NBC announced today that singer, songwriter, actress, and producer Jennifer Lopez will hit the stage with a performance at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. Jennifer first confirmed the news when she appeared on NBC’s 'Today'.

Jennifer and NBC have maintained a good relationship for a long time. In 2014, she received the Billboard Music Awards ICON Award. She has also been the judge and executive producer on NBC’s hit summer series “World of Dance', as well as the executive producer and star of the hit drama “Shades of Blue." The singer will be taking a break from her current Las Vegas residency show 'All I Have' to join previously announced performers BTS, Camila Cabello, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, and others.

Over the years, Jennifer has established herself in both music and film. Being a successful recording and touring artist she has sold over 75 million records and has a cumulative box-office gross of over $2 billion. She is considered to be one of the most influential female artists in history.

As an artist, fashion icon, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Jennifer has been named Forbes magazine’s most powerful celebrity and People magazine’s first "Most Beautiful Woman in the World." Without a doubt, Jennifer is a global icon and the ultimate multihyphenate.

NBC also announced earlier this week that global superstar Janet Jackson will receive this year’s ICON Award. Jackson will also take the stage for a highly anticipated performance of her greatest hits, marking her first performance on television in nine years. The award show will be hosted by “The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson.

2018 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC. The three-hour telecast will feature performances from this year’s hottest musical acts, unexpected collaborations and buzzworthy moments that celebrate 60 years of the Billboard Hot 100.
