Jennifer Lopez exudes timeless elegance in chic black dress and sparkling necklace at 'The Mother Tastemaker' NYC event
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jennifer Lopez has been giving look after look as she promotes her forthcoming action picture ‘The Mother’. Lopez wore another gorgeous ensemble to a Netflix film promotion event on May 4.
The ‘Jenny From The Block' singer, 53, looked stunning in a traditional black gown with a glittering snake-like necklace at ‘The Mother Tastemaker’ event at The Whitby Hotel in New York. That design around the neck was perfectly matched by the Bronx, New York native with a pair of strappy heels that wrapped around her ankles.

A star-studded premier
She accessorized with a silver-looking bracelet that matched the overall design of the outfit, as well as a black clutch purse. Lopez completed her look by wearing her lightened locks with a generous dose of volume, allowing her tresses to fall down over her chest and to the center of her back with a center part.
In the movie, JLo plays a former assassin who returns to the Alaskan wilderness after years of hiding out to save her estranged daughter. Lucy Paez, the actress who plays her daughter in the film, also accompanied her on the red carpet. The co-stars posed with director Niki Caro and executive producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas from The Mother.
Alongside JLo, Melissa Gorga and her husband Joe Gorga were also in attendance. Melissa looked stunning in a hot pink suit dress that knotted around her waist. She stepped into strappy silver heels. Her husband wore a purple blazer, black jeans and a chain necklace.
'It's been a busy day for JLo's new flick'
Netflix also staged a special showing of the action film at the Paris Theater in Midtown Manhattan, an iconic art house cinema theater that debuted in 1948. Jennifer was seen posing in the same gorgeous outfit outside the venue.
Lopez took a stroll inside and outside the venue ahead of time to get a feel for the place, striking a number of postures for photographers on the scene. She appeared to be impressed by the vintage features of the 535-seat single-screen theater while standing outside inspecting the marquee.
As a seasoned member of the film industry, the actress, singer, and dancer struck a few more poses for the photographers before heading back inside. Lopez was also observed leaving The Whitby Hotel earlier in the evening and heading to ‘The Mother’ premiere as the screening time approached.
JLo's fashionista spree
The fashionista was wearing a long black overcoat over her gorgeous outfit as she exited the exit doors, with a man who appeared to be acting as security close behind. More admirers had congregated outside the Paris Theatre, outside the gates that had been built along the pavement and into the street.
Netflix has been operating the Paris Theatre since November 2019, showing first-run films alongside repertory programming. The action drama, directed by Niki Caro and written by Misha Green, Andrea Berloff, and Peter Craig, will be released on Netflix on May 12, two days before Mother's Day.
The cast also includes Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, Gael Garca Bernal, Paul Raci, Lucy Paez, Jesse Garcia, and Yvonne Senat Jones, in addition to Lopez. Lopez has also been working on the science fiction thriller Atlas, which is also a Netflix project.
