'Every day is all about me': Jenna Ortega channels Wednesday Addams during pre-Golden Globes party
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: With a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Netflix’s ‘Wednesday,’ Jenna Ortega greeted fans at a pre-event party at Catch Streak recently. For her appearance, the 20-year-old actress channelled her inner Wednesday Addams and wore an outfit inspired by her character’s Nevermore Academy uniform. The young starlet was seen taking pictures and signing autographs for fans while she was accompanied by her castmate Emma Myers, who plays her affable roommate, Enid Sinclair, on the show.
This outing comes just days after news broke that 'Wednesday' would be renewed for another season. The show follows the titular character, Wednesday Addams, played by Ortega, as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy, a boarding school. It also features 'Game of Thrones' favorite Gwendoline Christie and Catherine Zeta Jones, along with Hunter Doohan and Percy Hynes White.

For her night out, Ortega stepped out in a cool and stylish schoolgirl inspired outfit, which seems to be inspired by her psychotic on-screen persona that helped her gain worldwide fame. She pulled off a white dress shirt that slightly showed off her toned midriff along with a grey skirt. She complemented her outfit with silver hoop earrings and a pair of wireless headphones around her neck. She also wore a loose fitting black neck tie, along with black dress shoes and a pair of grey socks.
While seemingly being inspired by the looks of the show, Ortega had previously spoken about the major role that fashion played in the show. “[Fashion is] a big deal because the show is actually very colorful, so it’s nice because it creates a stronger contrast between Wednesday and the rest of the characters. I feel like [Wednesday and I] like similar things already,” Ortega told Vogue Magazine, adding, “I’ve always loved button-ups and white collars. It’s something that I’ve always gravitated towards. I love dark colors.”
Ortega also admitted that she was not a fan of wearing colorful clothes, much like her character on the show. “It really pains me to wear color sometimes but I do it because I feel like I have to. See I’m not as confident in myself as Wednesday is,” she said. She also mentioned that the one thing she has taken away from her character’s macabre fashion sense was the black nail polish. She admits to not wearing much polish before the show, but now, she felt like her "nails are always painted black."
