The experience of being a father at 70

In an interview with Today's host Hoda Kotb in November 2022, he was asked how it felt to be a parent at the age of 70. The 'Thor: Ragnarok' actor admitted, “It’s amazing, it’s revivifying, and makes my relationship with Emilie, frankly, enhanced." When the actor was 62, he and his wife, a former Canadian gymnast, became parents. In 2018, at age 65, he reflected on how he thought he had become a father at the perfect time, saying, “I’m glad I waited. It feels great to do it right now because all the things I'm considering are perfectly suited to the big questions and challenges of having kids, and what you want to expose them to."

The 'Independence Day' star further continued, "What you want to leave them with, what life is, and what kind of life you contribute to them." Jeff appeared to be a doting parent who became a father when he was ready to take on the role with his full attention and love.
