If you are a Kanye West fan, then you must have already seen Act 1 of the Netflix documentary series ‘Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy’. The first part of the docuseries was all about how a young man from Atlanta wanted to become one of the most successful musicians of all time and started his journey by making beats for some of the best rappers of all time.

But he did not just want to make beats, he wanted to be a rapper and was trying everything to get a chance to showcase his talent. So, Act II tells the story of him finally getting to do what he wanted to, but it came with a hefty price. Part two of the docuseries amazingly captures the accident that changed the rapper’s life and made it even more difficult for her to pursue his dream. The accident took place in October 2002 and broke his jaw completely.

Kudos to Coodie Simpson for documenting what exactly happened after the accident and how Kanye overcame everything to start working on his own album. Viewers will also get to see the musician visiting the doctor and get the wires taken out of his mouth. Apart from documenting the rapper’s pain, Act 2 also covers how Kanye desperately wanted to work with Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella records. In one of the scenes, we can see Kanye rapping in front of Jay-Z and getting the praise he deserved. But, Roc-A-Fella was still not sure to give him a chance.

His meeting with Pharrell Williams is undoubtedly one of the best things of Part 2. Kanye makes him listen to the song ‘Through the Wire’ and Pharrell is completely blown away by his skills. The entire scenario showed how determined he was towards his work and didn’t shy away from going studio to studio to showcase his work. His determination to make it big is thoroughly engaging, however, once again it’s his relationship with his mother that really makes this documentary shine.

The reaction she gives after one of his performances is so adorable and shows why a mother always feels that her child is something special. She was also taken by surprise when Kanye started to say political stuff during her performance and said, “Oh snap.” But it was so adorable to see Donda’s reaction to her son’s performance. It was priceless.

The entire Act II was about the struggle Kanye went through to get one chance to showcase his talent and how he managed to finally achieve what he wanted to. From his accident to the release of his first album, Kanye’s journey has been nothing short of a miracle. At one point, he thought he could never sing, but he fought back and showed the world what he was made of.

The second act gave us a glimpse of some of the biggest players in the hip-hop and rap world. Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Ludacris, and P Diddy also made an appearance on the documentary and shared how Kanye was destined to be a big star.

If you want to know why Kanye West became so big, check out the speech he gave after winning his first Grammy. You’ll get a better idea about how confident he was in his art and knew his worth.

There’s still one more part to come and we feel that it will document how ‘The College Dropout’ turned out to be the perfect stepping stone for him. Act 2 of ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ is captivating and tells you how one accident changed his life, giving him a chance to shine bright like a diamond.
