Kanye West ‘Jeen-Yuhs’: Fans say Netflix documentary 'breaking hearts with innocence'
‘An angel needs to watch over you’, says Kanye West’s mother Donda West whilst looking at his sparkling chain in Netflix’s documentary on the rapper called ‘Jeen-Yuhs’. Act I of the three-part documentary titled ‘Vision’ made its way to the leading streaming giant on February 16. Part one of the brand new feature sheds light on the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker’s hunger to make it big in the industry as he grapples with his personal demons and professional rivals.
The loyal fans of the Grammy-winning rapper rushed to Twitter as soon as they watched ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ with an intention to share their valuable opinion on the same. Act I of ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ has been shot by Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah is all about Kanye trying to find his space as a rapper whilst already working as a music producer for some of the biggies back in the day including Jay Z, Mos Def, and Scarface among others.

Kanye West’s ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ serves as a perfect origin story for him as it dives deep into his ambitions, insecurities, and joys. It takes the fans to his humble beginnings something which the social media users loved thoroughly. With an intention to find fame and fortune, Kanye hustles to bag a record deal dubbing himself as a producer who can rap.
We also get to see an emotional side of the multi-platinum rapper as he shares some beautiful moments with his mother Donda West who lifts his spirit after he gets disheartened over not being able to bag a deal. Donda died in 2007 after cosmetic surgery complications. From barging into Jay-Z’s office of Roc-A-Fella Records to buying an adult magazine and getting dissed by a fellow musician on radio, Act I proves to be a roller coaster ride for the fans. Part 2 and Part 3 of the documentary will be released in the next two weeks respectively.

Social media users thronged on Twitter after they watched part of the trilogy. “Wow. Part 1 is Last Call in visual form. The reason I became a Kanye fan. I can’t wait to see part 2 & 3!” said one user as another chimed in, “Part 1 of Kanye documentary “jeen-yuhs” was amazing.” One user posted, “Watching Kanye and Donda’s footage in this doc… I feel for him. That really was his best friend.” Another stated, “The jeen-yuhs documentary >>> really storytelling Kanye excellently.”
The next one shared, “It is absolutely wild seeing this footage of retainer mouth Ye knowing all of who Kanye West is right now. Like… literally right now as I tweet.” One added, “Donda was Kanye’s safe space. She is definitely missed.” Meanwhile, one individual tweeted, “There’s a certain innocence to Kanye in pt 1 that’s breaking my heart.” One added, “The dopest part about the JEENYUHS doc is how much of a genius Coodie is to see all the genius inside of a young Kanye and drop everything he was doing to follow him on his journey of “making it.” And, one concluded, “Watching this jeen-yuhs doc… man this mf Kanye is an absolute genius, hurts to see him tweak out like this.”
