'You need flexibility': Jane Fonda, 85, reveals workout benefits as she makes witty remark on 'making love'

The ‘Grace and Frankie’ actress stated that the ‘shape of her body’ had changed for the better as she continued to stick with her workouts

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Age is just a number and Jane Fonda has been the face of that phrase for the longest time! The 85-year-old ‘Barbarella’ star has announced that her cancer is in remission. She further announced that a big movie, '80 for Brady,’ which co-stars Rita Moreno, Sally Field, and Lily Tomlin is releasing. The actress is also making sure those around her know the benefits of exercise. Fonda, who is the face of the ‘H&M Move’ campaign recently opened up about how workouts have been a big part of her life after she realized their importance. Meanwhile, the actress further joked about needing 'flexibility' for 'making love' hinting that exercise caters to all. 

“I didn’t know that it was important to do ’til I was in my 30s. I had a ‘constant period’ all during school so that I couldn’t do gym- anything to get out of gym,” Fonda told the media at the H&M Williamsburg Move Studio launch. The actress then went on to admit that it was only when she touched her thirties, did she began her fitness journey. “It wasn’t until my late 30s [or] early 40s that I started to actually become active … [and] life before I was active, it wasn’t nearly as good as when I started to move," as per Jane Fonda. She then joked about her sex life as well! “You have to be able to, you know, make love. I don’t remember much [about that], but do I remember you need flexibility!”

Did fitness help Jane Fonda battle depression?

The ‘Grace and Frankie’ actress stated that the ‘shape of her body’ had changed for the better as she continued to stick with her workouts and that she had an amazing mood lift. She also credited her fitness routine for keeping her away from depression. “I come from a long line of really depressed people, and the best way to fight depression is to keep moving,” the actress said.

Jane Fonda sustained workout habits for decades

Fonda is famous for her workout routine from 1982 and has been credited with bringing the workout culture to the mainstream audience. While the octogenarian is not into the current intense workouts anymore, she is very thankful for the habit that she has sustained for decades. “You’ve got to stay strong,” she said, according to Daily Mail. “I have a grandson who’s 3 years old, and I can still pick him up. I mean, I have to bend my knees and, you know, it takes a long time to get him up there, but I can still pick him up. You want to be able to carry your own bags," she stated.
