'This just should not be happening': Country music stars Jana Kramer and Jessie Decker heartbroken as 6 killed in Nashville school shooting
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: The school shooting in Nashville on Monday, March 27, 2023, left Jessie James Decker heartbroken as she assured her social media followers that her children were doing fine. In an Instagram post, Decker wiped away her tears as she said, "A lot of you are messaging, and it’s not my kids’ school, but it’s only two miles up the road. It’s in our town, it’s in our community, and it’s just awful." Meanwhile, Jana Kramer assured her followers on social media that her children, Jolie and Jace, are doing "okay."
Authorities in Nashville, Tennessee, said that six people were killed after a 28-year-old trans attacker opened fire at The Covenant School, a private Christian elementary school. Three adults and three students were killed by the shooter, Fox News reported.

Celebrities, including Jessie James Decker and Jana Kramer, among others, took to social media to share heartbreaking messages about the lives lost during the shooting. Decker shared an Instagram Story where she was found wiping tears over the fatal incident. Decker said in the story, "I’m just heartbroken for these families. Please pray so hard for these families and this community." She also added, "This just should not be happening. I went and picked the kids up immediately, and they’re home safe. What is happening in the world?"
Kramer also added, "My heart is absolutely breaking for the children and families right now. Why. Why. Why. I just will never understand. Please pray." Kristin Cavallari, a neighbor of Kramer in Nashville, gave her followers the reassurance that her kids were safe after the shooting on Monday. The 36-year-old Laguna Beach alum and ex-Jay Cutler have a daughter Saylor, 7, a son Camden, 10, and a son Jaxon, 8.
Other celebs such as Brittany Aldean and LeAnn Rimes also shared on social media that they are heartbroken over the fatal shooting incident. LeAnn Rimes wrote, "There are no words, just rage and heartbreak for these children and their families. i can’t even fathom what is this doing to the psyches of every child and parent in this country. absolute terror every time a child goes to a place that should be safe."

"Oh my god," Maren Morris wrote on her Instagram story after she posted the initial tweet from the Nashville Fire Department.
'It is such a heartbreak'
Fans and followers of celebs as well as several other Internet users took to social media to share their heartbroken feelings over the Nashville school shooting where at least three children and three adults had been killed. One user wrote, "It is such a heartbreak - a preventable heartbreak." A second Internet user wrote, "One of my biggest fears is a school shooting happening. Got 3 kids in HS and my one adult stepdaughter works in a school with disabled children. It’s so scary to know that this can happen anywhere. #WeNeedToDoBetterAmerica"
A third one typed, "Once Sandy Hook happened (20 kids, 6 adults were massacred), that's when I knew America cared more about guns than children. it's 11 yrs later & NOTHING has changed. Now those poor families in Nashville are the latest victims of gun violence. It's infuriating." One more user wrote, "It's terrible and sickening those poor children and there families. At least 3 children and 3 adults killed
Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old former transgender student who shot dead three students and three employees at The Covenant School on March 27, 2023, has left behind a comprehensive manifesto and a map that have been discovered by police. According to Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake, "We have a manifesto, we have some writings we’re going over that pertain to this day, the actual incident. We have a map drawn out of how this was all going to take place."
Six people who were shot at Covenant School have been identified by Nashville police. William Kinney, Evelyn Dieckhaus, and Hallie Scruggs are the three pupils that were declared dead. They were all only nine years old. In addition, the three adult fatalities were revealed to be Katherine Koonce, 60, the school's headmistress, and staff members Cynthia Peak and Mike Hill, both 61.
