Nashville school shooting: Teen girl identified as shooter who killed at least 3 children, 3 adults
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: At least three children have died in a shooting that took place in Nashville, Tennessee. The local authorities updated on Twitter, informing there were ‘multiple patients’ from an incident at a local school. It still remains ‘an active scene,’ however, Nashville police have gunned down the ‘teenage girl’ shooter. The authorities have asked parents to meet at a nearby location. The ABC news report that three children were rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the local Vanderbilt University Medical Center, as per sources. The local authorities have confirmed that three adults also died in the attack.
In the latest report, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has confirmed its participation in the investigation. The incident took place in a private Christian school, the Covenant School in Nashville, which caters to students from pre-school through the sixth grade, where most of the students are 11 or 12 years old. As per the school’s official website, it has around 200 students enrolled currently and implemented an ‘active shooter’ program in 2022.

'Praying for the children'
Tennessee's House Democratic Caucus said in a statement that its members are "praying for the children and their families who were shooting victims at the Covenant School". Chairman John Ray Clemmons said, "Our thoughts are with the families of the entire school community and the surrounding neighborhood." Freddie O'Connell, a Nashville mayoral candidate further said that Nashville has now "joined the communities that have experienced a school shooting," reports BBC News. The data compiled by Education Week, there were 12 school shootings in 2023 through 23 March which resulted in deaths or injuries in the US.
