'He is already on the way to recovery'
Jamie's horrifying incident was made public by Corrine Foxx, his 29-year-old daughter, who said on social media, "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on the way to recovery." Insiders, however, claimed that the grim situation, which has kept him in the hospital for more than a week, was significantly more serious than the family had initially indicated. The insider added, "Jamie suffers from high blood pressure, which doctors say can cause clots in the brain leading to a stroke. Doctors believe this was a long time coming, and really, if they hadn't acted fast, Jamie might well have been a goner."
They also said that Jamie's near-death experience may have saved his life because the stress of working on the set of his newest movie was probably a significant contributor to his breakdown. The 'Collateral Damage' actor reportedly had "an absolute meltdown" while filming in England, losing his temper and attacking many cast and staff members. As a result, two directors and his own personal chauffeur were fired.
Jamie Foxx is 'awake and alert'
According to reports, there was a lot of drama on set and the tight environment made Cameron Diaz give a second thought to her well-publicized return to acting after a nine-year break. An insider claimed, "Jamie has definitely been troubled throughout the shoot. He wasn't fun to be around — especially for Cameron. But now there seems to have been a good reason for it." According to insiders, Jamie is "awake and alert" but still resting in the hospital under a doctor's care throughout the weekend.
