'Your presence is enough': James Van Der Beek wishes 'sensitive and loving' daughter on ninth birthday
AUSTIN, TEXAS: 'Dawson’s Creek' actor James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly have six children, and the actor recently opened up about daughter Annabel while wishing her on her birthday! Van Der Beek posted a series of pictures of him and his daughter along with a sweet message to wish her on her ninth birthday. In the message, he said he ‘always knew’ that she was different from the ‘moment you came out.’
The post was captioned, “9 years old today. 9 years of getting to live in the same house with sweet, loving kindness personified. I knew you were different the moment you came out… and since then, you’ve known you will always win a “Make Dad Laugh” competition, no matter my mood,” and featured a string of photos of the father-daughter pair cheekily and sweetly posing for the camera. Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly have been married since 2010.

He then went on to continue, “Sensitive people can be a bit more vulnerable to what this world throws at them, but may you are always find refuge inside that beautiful, soft heart of yours… fully confident that gift of your presence is enough to offer joy to whomever is near - IF people are open. If they’re not… it’s their loss, not yours.”
The 45-year-old father then continued to ask his dear daughter to "Keep shining, kid. Keep dancing, keep laughing, and keep expressing every feeling as it comes up for you. We’re here for ALL of it. I love you.”
Van Der Beek posted nine photos, one for each year of Annabel’s life. In the photos, the doting dad is seen wearing a cream colored coat and a blue-brown scarf, and also rocks a cute beanie! He is seen with his hands wrapped around his daughter, who wore a cute pink top and a brown sweater. She also wore a light yellow bucket hat as she had her blonde tresses down in messy curls. She finished her look with a pair of casual white sweatpants and black shoes.
Annabel’s mother and James’ wife Kimberly also posted a sweet tribute to her daughter on her ninth birthday. The caption said, “Annabel, beautiful heart fairy princess. I love you. Happy 9th birthday my heaven.”
