James Van Der Beek and his family are looking for a fresh start out of Los Angeles. The actor and his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, packed their bags and took a 10-day cross-country adventure to their new dream home in Texas. The major move came months after Van Der Beek revealed on Instagram the tragedies his family has recently endured and how they came out strong together. The couple has surely set some major couple goals out there.

Beek announced his Texas arrival through an Instagram post, where he wrote, "And... we’ve landed. In the last ten months, we’ve had two late-term pregnancy losses, each of which put @vanderkimberly in the hospital, we spent Christmas break thinking she had a tumor (the doctor was wrong, thank god), I was prematurely booted off a reality dancing show I was favored to win in front of the whole world, and my mom died. And a shut-down. All of that led to some drastic changes in our lives, and dreams, and priorities... and landed us here. Overflowing with profound gratitude today," alongside some beautiful family pictures of the countryside.

Beek was earlier married to actress, Heather McComb from 2003 until they divorced in April 2009, their divorce was finalized in spring 2010. But by then, he was already dating another woman, his current wife, Kimberly.

In April 2010, Beek announced that he and his girlfriend at the time, Kimberly Brook, were expecting their first child together. "Yes, it's true - the woman I love and I are expecting our first child... currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed." Beek tweeted.

On August 1, 2020, the parents-to-be ended up tying the knot in a beautiful spiritual ceremony at the Kabbalah Center near Dizengoff Plaza in Tel Aviv, Israel. The couple is now blessed with five children. Their oldest child Olivia was born on September 25, 2010, their second child Joshua was born on March 13, 2012, their third kid, Annabel was born on January 25, 2014, their fourth child Emilia was born on March 23, 2016, and their youngest son Gwendolyn was born on June 15, 2018.

In October 2019, the couple announced that they were expecting their sixth child. But later, in November 2019, it was revealed that Kimberly had suffered a miscarriage. This was Kimberly's fifth miscarriage in nine years.

"After suffering a brutal, very public miscarriage last November, we were overjoyed to learn we were pregnant," the 'Dawson''s Creek' star wrote on Instagram. "This time, we kept the news to ourselves. But last weekend, once again, 17 weeks in... the soul we’d been excited to welcome into the world had lessons for our family that did not include joining us in a living physical body."

He further wrote, "We rushed @vanderkimberly to the hospital by ambulance for another harrowing night of blood transfusions. And as I stood by, grateful for the good people who navigated the maze of regulations to save her life — but helpless to do much for the woman I loved other than massage her feet and try to keep her warm (with my #DWTS robe, ironically) — something kept running through my head, again and again, which I now feel compelled to share: We’ve got to take better care of each other. The world is in pain right now. There’s denial, shock, numbness, anger - all the old patterns we cling to when deep trauma is unearthed. And there are no words to ease that pain... to make the process hurt less or to solve it quickly. But the way out of it? Starts with an open, broken-hearted contemplation of this question: How can we take better care of each other? And to all the families who have gone through this... you are not alone."

In December 2019, Beek shared a cute family snap and wrote, "I spent a lot of energy at photo shoots in my early twenties trying desperately to look half as cool as any one of my kids do in this photo. Clearly, they must’ve been lying in wait that whole time... siphoning off all that cool for themselves. Selfish bastards." (LOL.)

Now almost after 11 months from Kimberly's fifth miscarriage, the family decided to move to Texas and start a new happy country life.
