NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Controversial transgender star Dylan Mulvaney is once again in the spotlight, but this time because of her doppelganger. James Rose is a trans actress who looks extremely similar to Mulvaney, and the two are often mistaken for each other. They have also appeared together in an amusing video to prove that they aren't the same person.

Mulvaney has been the subject of a lot of talks lately because she has been criticized for her partnerships with Bud Light and Nike. Rose, who transitioned from male to genderfluid, has 450,000 TikTok followers and posts regularly on trans issues. She is friends with Mulvaney, a biological male who began transitioning in 2021 and attended her event last month honoring the 365 days of "girlhood."

Who is James Rose?

It was the first time the two were seen together when they filmed a "crossover episode" for their fans in May 2022. Rose recently attended a party in New York City to celebrate Mulvaney's first year as a woman. Mulvaney, who has 10 million TikTok followers, recently caused a flurry of controversy after she received a special BudLight can as a gift for the occasion. Rose and Mulvaney poked fun at their similarities, stressing that they are in fact two different people.

'I wanted long hair'

When Rose was young, she put towels and shirts over her head to show that she had long hair, and this was one of her earliest memories of being uncomfortable as a man. She said, "My mom had long hair Madeline in Paris had long hair, Jessie from Toy Story had long hair, I wanted long hair. There are flickers when I got to wear shirts and towels and capes on my head and prance around and pretend I was as beautiful...and there are daggers where I was told it was inappropriate & boys don’t do that and Miss Patty is coming over James would you please take that off." She added, "Now I am a genderfluid beauty who prances around New York City with a bravado that would make Jessie and Madeline envious & the only inappropriate thing was being denied who I was. My mom goes shopping in the women’s section for me now and when I came out to my dad he hugged me and said "this makes so much sense, I love you so much.'" Rose has performed on stage and in films, including The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Never Let Me Go, and Singin' in the Rain. She also writes about gender, liberation, eating disorder recovery, and trauma on her social media channels, as per Daily Mail.

'We are in fact two different people'

Rose, a New Yorker, begins the video with the phrase "Day 61 of being a girl," the title of Mulvaney's iconic mini-series in which she chronicles her transition. "Excuse me that's kind of my thing but we can do it together," Mulvaney responds  before they both say, "Day 61 of being a girl and we are in fact two different people." Rose then states, "Some people on TikTok don't believe we're not the same person," before Mulvaney adds, "We're here to set the record straight." And together they ask their viewers, "What is it about us that people find so similar?" Mulvaney says, "Is it our brown hair?" Rose goes on, "Is it the same sunglasses?" "Is it our smiles," Mulvaney asks and Rose replies, "Is it our crop top," before Mulvaney further says, "Is it our musical theatre degrees?" The couple then begins to sing together before they declare "I love you" and give the camera a kiss.

'One is more than enough!'

The Internet has responded hilariously to the video, with one user tweeting, "Could have at least had a shave." Another user called them "The twins from The Shining???" One person wrote, "Female impersonators." Another noted, "No thanks! One is more than enough …" "Great now we have Adam and Steve !!!!" wrote another.
