Is there a fifth 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer? Latest rumor comes amid Thor-centered teaser release
The MCU's rumor mills are churning about a secret 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer. The movie's main story is kept a tight secret, and the two trailers so far show the return of Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth). While the second trailer is making the rounds amid a series of leaks, a new report suggests that there is a fifth trailer after the previous ones stated four new videos that would be released.
The trailer focused on Rogers, showing Evans' MCU return, which included the new development that Steve and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) had a baby. The second 'Doomsday' teaser featured Thor and his adoptive daughter, Love. Two more clips were reported to be on the way, with one focusing on the X-Men and one on Robert Downey Jr.'s grand reveal as Doctor Doom. Per ScreenRant, the Korea Media Rating Board has reportedly rated a fifth trailer. The clip spans a minute and five seconds, in line with the two teasers released so far.
At the time of writing, Marvel has yet to acknowledge a fifth trailer, which was not part of the reportage earlier. Should there be a fifth, it could be a movie-focused one. If not, there is the possibility that it might showcase the Thunderbolts or even Sam Wilson's version of the Avengers featuring Thor, Loki, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Ant-Man.
“Doomsday” will bring together not only the Avengers, but also 'Fantastic Four' stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The “Thunderbolts” cast includes Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman. The X-Men band features Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, and Rebecca Romijn.
Earlier, Liu spoke about working alongside Downey for 'Doomsday'. Per Collider, “I had many of those moments. I remember meeting Downey for the first time," he said. "That is such a pinch-me moment in and of itself, because I'd almost met everyone else around him at some juncture or other, but I had never actually met him, and it's very fitting."
"I was like, ‘Oh, I'm actually very glad that this is the first time that we're meeting,’ because otherwise it would have felt anticlimactic if I met him at, like, the Golden Globes, and then I'm like, ‘Okay, well, I'll see you at work.’ This was a very momentous meeting where we met, and then we were like, ‘We're about to work together. That's fantastic.’ I got to say how much his work has meant to me, and shared some really kind words, and he was really sweet. That was the first one."
'Avengers: Doomsday' releases December 18, 2026.
