LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kyle Richards of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' has stated that she sought professional therapy for her mental health following a "rough year" dealing with her closest friend's suicide. The Bravo favorite, who was devastated by the death of buddy Lorene Shea in May, has begun therapy for the first time in years to deal with her sadness.
In 2022, the 'RHOBH' actress lamented the terrible death of a cherished friend who struggled with mental health issues. In a lengthy Instagram post, Kyle expressed her grief at the loss of her closest friend. She shared a series of nice and poignant images of the twosome laughing and getting old together. The pair had known one other since the reality star was roughly seven years old, according to the childhood photos. Kyle also recorded Lauren as they had a private aircraft trip in the short clip.

Is Kyle Richards seeking therapy?
On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Los Angeles, Kyle sponsored an event for the organization NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to raise awareness for mental health and honor her friend. "I've been going to therapy a couple of months now," she told The Sun exclusively, adding, "I find it to be very helpful. Zoom and face-to-face, a combination of both depending on our schedules. Years ago I did it just for my anxiety, but this time it was more specific because I've obviously had kind of a rough year. I'm here tonight to talk about NAMI and my best friend Lorene who took her life, the one-year anniversary is coming up, and it's also Mental Health Awareness Month. It's really important to me to be able to spread the word and awareness and raise money. I want people to know that there is help out there."
Kyle, who focuses on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to be mentally fit, says she felt "helpless" when her closest friend died, and she wants depression to be less of a "taboo topic". Kyle emphasized during the event that mental health is an "open conversation" in her household and that her daughters journal, exercise, and meditate to help them cope with any unpleasant situations.
Housewives gather for a loyal cause
Kyle's daughters joined her to help raise awareness for mental health assistance at The Fleur Room in West Hollywood for 'A Night of Music with Morgan Wade'. A number of her 'Real Housewives' co-stars, including Sutton Stracke, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Garcelle Beauvais, Dorit Kemsley, and new cast member Annemarie Wiley, joined her at the event.
Despite being invited to the lavish charity dinner, Erika Jayne did not attend, and her half-sister Kathy Hilton was also absent due to their continuing conflict.
