Flavor Fav just managed to escape death after a giant boulder struck the side of his car on Tuesday, December 14. The 62-year-old rapper had a near-death experience when rain caused a huge boulder to tumble down a cliff in La Tuna Canyon and hit his car, while he was on his way to Los Angeles from Las Vegas. Flav, who lost control of his vehicle for a while, managed to finally pull over.

Had he driven the car just a few inches in another direction, the boulder might as well have killed him. “Thank God he survived and is OK, although [he’s] a bit emotionally shaken up,” his rep told Page Six. Flav is now physically safe. The boulder greatly damaged his white Audi. The car was towed away by AAA, who were called by Flav's team following the accident. “God is good,” Flav told TMZ, and added that he “came very close to death but is super grateful to be alive.” However, although physically fit, Flav is mentally shaken up after the incident.

Domestic violence incident

This incident comes just months after Flav, born William Drayton Jr, was arrested over a domestic violence incident in Las Vegas. The rapper had been arrested by the Henderson Police Department on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge after an altercation the night before.

The city attorney claimed that Flav allegedly grabbed the victim, a woman, poked his finger in her nose and threw her to the ground. He was also accused of grabbing a phone out of the woman's hand. Billboard reported that the victim was someone Flav was dating at that time, and the two share a child. Their son finally split up the fight. The woman allegedly suffered a cut on her face that was “consistent with an altercation taking place.” The

The multi-instrumentalist pleaded no contest to one count of coercion. His attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld told PEOPLE, "In alleged domestic violence cases, there are often two sides to the story, and we will explain our side in the courtroom and not in the media." Reportedly, his misdemeanor charge was dropped.

Flavor Flav’s attorneys had explained, “Today the domestic violence charge against Mr. William Drayton [Flavor Flav] was dismissed. Mr. Drayton acknowledged the nonviolent act of grabbing a phone during the incident in question, a misdemeanor, and the case was closed by the court.”

“Mr Drayton and his family are grateful to bring an amicable close to this matter and appreciate everyone’s support as he continues his one-year journey of sobriety," they had added.
