Iconic ‘Better Call Saul’ star joins ‘Pluribus’, but you'll have to look closely to spot her
Apple TV+'s 'Pluribus' is a gift that just keeps delivering surprises. Created by Vince Gilligan, the creative mind behind 'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul,' the series is garnering attention thanks to its intriguing storyline. The show also includes easter eggs to Gilligan past work, like a 'Breaking Bad' formula reference in episode 2. Now, a recent episode features a third 'Better Call Saul' cameo that has fans buzzing and we can see why.
'Pluribus' Episode 5 brings another 'Better Call Saul' actor into the mix with Patrick Fabian's voice cameo. Fabian, known for playing Howard Hamlin, provides a recorded message from the hive mind that Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn) hears each time she phones them, as per ScreenRant. In the midst of this, A third 'Better Call Saul' alum then joins the 'Pluribus' universe through Carol Burnett's introduction video posted by Apple TV.
Although not part of an episode, the video shows Burnett addressing Carol as a member of the hive mind. Staying consistent with the hive mind's style, Burnett says, "Hello, Carol. This individual also went by the name of Carol." She points out several of her major comedic roles but especially points out her guest appearance on 'Law & Order: SVU,' all while trying to persuade Carol to join the hive mind.
Notably, Burnett, who played Marion in several 'Better Call Saul' season 6 episodes, now appears in Pluribus through an Apple TV video released after John Cena's cameo in episode 6. Like Cena, Burnett features in a prerecorded hive-mind message to Carol, following the group's decision to cut off direct contact. Cena's cameo also explained why the hive mind consumes dead bodies despite refusing to take lives.
Reportedly, Burnett hasn't appeared in an actual 'Pluribus' episode yet, but with three episodes left in season 1 and season 2 already confirmed, there's plenty of room for more celebrity and 'Better Call Saul' cameos ahead. Released in November 2025, the post-apocalyptic series received critical acclaim, and fans are already calling for more despite season 1 not yet ending.
Currently, 'Pluribus' is only confirmed for a second season, with no additional seasons ordered yet, as per The Hollywood Reporter. However, creator Gilligan expressed confidence in the show's longevity, telling Variety in a late 2025 red carpet interview that he'd "love to see Pluribus go as long as Rhea Seehorn wants it to go."
