Ten episodes of new CBS original true-crime series, 'Interrogation' is set to release early February on CBS All Access. The show revolves around interrogations from real case files and is based on a young man who murders his mother. After being sentenced to life imprisonment, the convict fights to prove his innocence for over 20 years.

'Interrogation' is set to premiere on Thursday, February 6, 2020.

Plot

'Interrogation' is a true-crime series where the viewer is the detective. It is based on a true story spanning about 30 years where a man was charged for the brutal murder of his mother. The viewers will be able to see the crime on the day it occurs and then will be able to follow the evidence like a detective. Furthermore, the viewer will be able to determine their own path and abandon the linear narrative of the investigation which will lead up to the finale regardless of the order chosen.

Cast

Peter Sarsgaard as Det. David Russell in 'Interrogation' (CBS)

The series will star Peter Sarsgaard (The Looming Tower) as David Russell, lead detective and Kyle Gallner (Outsiders) will portray the role of accused Eric Fisher. David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck) will play the role of Henry Fisher, Eric’s father. Guest appearances include  Vincent D'Onofrio (The Godfather of Harlem) portraying the role of Ian Lynch, an Internal Affairs officer, Eric's ally.

Sarsgaard made his screen debut in Tim Robbins' Dead Man Walking (1995) but had his first substantial role in The Man in the Iron Mask (1998). In 1999, Sarsgaard broke out of obscurity with his role in Kimberly Peirce's Boys Don't Cry. In 2004 he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in Shattered Glass as journalist Charles Lane. Latest news is that he has also been cast in the new 'Batman' movie alongside Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, and Paul Dano.

David Strathairn as Henry Fisher in 'Interrogation' (CBS)

Hollywood actor David Strathairn was introduced to television audiences with his role as bookstore owner Moss Goodman on the popular dramedy series 'Days and Nights of Molly Dodd'. He has also appeared in films such as 'We Are Marshall', 'The Bourne Ultimatum' and 'Howl' among others. In 2012 he was cast in Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln' as William Seward. Strathairn has appeared in the TV series Big Apple (2001), The Sopranos (1999), Monk (2002), and headed the cast of the science-fiction series Alphas (2011). His work in television films has brought him an Emmy Award for Temple Grandin (2010) and an Emmy nomination for Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012).

Creators

CBS Television Studios and Fabrik Entertainment will produce the series. Anders Weidemann (30 Degrees In February) and John Mankiewicz (House of Cards, Bosch), both co-creators will also serve as executive producers along with Fabrik Entertainment’s Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.

The trailer gives viewers a first look at 10 different people being interrogated about the same crime over 20 years. In the video, which you can view above, you’ll see snippets of each of these sessions, as authorities spend two decades trying to get to the bottom of a grisly murder.
