LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Since her show ended, Wendy Williams has undoubtedly been on an interesting path. The host, Wendy, reportedly entered a rehab facility on September 14, 2022. It was first claimed that she had come to the facility to deal with her substance abuse issues. Her dispute with the production company, Debmar-Mercury, was purportedly the cause of her health problems.

Wendy's representative, however, has denied these claims. As she got ready to return to the public with her upcoming podcast, 'The Wendy Experience,' they said that her treatment was concentrated on improving her overall well-being, as per HotNewHipHop. In another recent piece by OK! News, it was revealed that Wendy was planning a significant relocation from her Manhattan penthouse to Los Angeles and that she had been selling "all of her belongings" in advance.

'She was asking for clear liquor'

Wendy, 58, reportedly had a relapse, according to the Instagram gossip website, The Jasmine Brand. The story, released on Wednesday, April 19, is reportedly supported by insider accounts. The former TV anchor reportedly made several phone calls asking her friends to deliver clear booze in water bottles to her penthouse in New York City. Wendy seemed hopeful that the water bottle concealment would help dispel any "suspicion" that she relapsed. According to the source, "She was asking for clear liquor to be brought to her in water bottles so no one would suspect it. She would ask, and then call repeatedly to follow up on her request."

However, the headlines after Wendy visited the rehab center said that she was "better than ever." Her team released a statement at the time regarding Wendy's stay in rehab. As she gears up for a significant comeback for the next phase of her career with 'The Wendy Experience Podcast,' they explained, "She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness." They further added, "Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time."

'Stop shaming her'

Social media users immediately came to defend Williams over the source's accusation that Wendy has relapsed. One fan wrote, "With friends like these…it’s one thing not to do it for her because you’re concerned for her well-being…it’s another to run and gossip about it." Another Instagram user commented, "Can we stop. Like for real. Leave this lady alone "source" 😡 A third follower commented, "Praying for her sobriety and health continue to improve daily. God’s Grace. 👏🏽💯❤️" Someone else exclaimed, "Why do y’all continue to speak badly about Wendy!!! She supported your platform several times on the show!! Just stop and pray for her!" Another user backed the former TV personality and commented, "She was addicted. That’s what they do. Stop shaming her." Someone else claimed it to be a fake story and wrote, "This is the dumbest story I’ve ever heard. Wendy could easily call any liquor store and they would deliver to her doorman. Lol. No ONE would know. Why all this extra ishhhh. #fake #story"

Wendy Williams' struggle with addiction

Around late September, Wendy's absence from all episodes of her show during Season 13 due to persistent health issues sparked worries for her well-being. The previous year, the former daytime diva, who had struggled with alcoholism and other health issues, spent two months in rehab. But in October 2022, a spokesperson for Williams informed OK! that "Williams is home and healing after being in a wellness facility since August."

Within a few days of her arrival back in New York, a source reported that Wendy was "looking to party" and "clearly there to party." According to the insider, she had been "randomly texting people looking to party" and needed true friends to keep her grounded. In March 2023, Wendy reportedly went to her favorite restaurant, Fresco by Scotto, alone to drink before going to The Townhouse, a well-known NYC gay nightclub. Her recent behavior is raising concerns for those close to her, as OK! revealed.
