'Take it off her!' Internet miffed that Kim Kardashian now owns Princess Diana's iconic necklace

The necklace, known as the Attallah Cross, was bought by Kim Kardashian at a Sotheby's auction for $197,453

CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian's jewelry collection just got a major upgrade. The reality star recently bought a famous diamond cross necklace that was formerly owned by Princess Diana. Known as the Attalah Cross, Diana donned the magnificent necklace in 1987 at a London charity banquet to complement her purple gown. The then Princess of Wales was able to borrow the piece from the Garrard jewelry company for the occasion.

As per TMZ, Kim has a penchant for owning vintage trinkets, including certain items owned by Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie O among others. Sources said that Kim won the necklace in a Sotheby's sale on Wednesday, January 18, for $197,453.

This is not the first time Kim has worn or bought anything that belongs to a famous personality. It may be recalled that she once wore Marilyn Monroe's rhinestone encrusted "Happy Birthday Mr President" dress to the 2022 Met Gala. The dress was reportedly one of the most expensive dresses in the world. 

Kim was slammed for her choice of dress. Soon rumors started doing the rounds that she damaged the dress. At that time, a person tweeted, "She ruined that dress," while another user wrote, "Question is: Why did someone let Kim K. wear Marilyn's dress?" 

However, Ripley's, that owns the dress, said that it was not damaged by her. 

'She's gonna start cosplaying Diana now'

Since news broke of Kim Kim winning the bid for the Attalah Cross, people have expressed their opinions online. A twitter user wrote, "She’s gonna start cosplaying Diana now," while another user wrote, "Someone please protect our artifacts from Kris Jenner’s manicured paws."

Another person wrote, "Can she literally leave deceased people stuff alone?????" while another chimed in, "She can buy a lot of things of iconic figures but she will never be an icon." Another user wrote, "Kim K collecting iconic dead women's belongings like she's a grave robber we're so tired..."

It does not stope there as another person wrote, "She just knows how to get the locals mad & i gag everytime." Another adeed, "Take it off her." An irate netizen tweeted, "She’s the only “celebrity” that’s obsessed with other celebrities."
