'Full-on psychotic': Internet divided as Kanye West reports paparazzi incident to cops after he was 'challenged to fight'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After Kanye West was followed by paparazzi earlier this week who "challenged him to a fight," the Yeezy CEO has now filed a complaint against them. According to a spokesperson of West Hollywood, California's Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, photographers "contacted" West on Tuesday, February 14 as he left Sunset Boulevard in the evening.
As per the watch sergeant, the paparazzi then allegedly "challenged him to a fight" after getting into "a verbal argument" with West. Following the incident, the 'All of the Lights' rapper along with people who were "hanging out with him" then reported to the sheriff's station requesting the office's assistance. According to Page Six, an investigation into the incident has begun, and a criminal report has been created. No arrests have been made so far in the case.

Kanye West's previous scuffles with paparazzi
West has often topped the headlines for his scuffles with the paparazzi. In another incident less than a month, the rapper got into a heated argument with the paparazzi where he approached a woman in her car. She was seen recording West and he took her phone and threw it out onto the street, according to a video that went viral from the incident that took place in January. In the video, West is heard telling the woman, “You didn’t have to run up on me like that. If I say stop, stop with your cameras!” Following the incident, the 'Flashing Lights' rapper has been named as a suspect in a battery probe.
On the same day, West got into an argument with another paparazzo when he was recorded during his arrival at his kid's basketball game and the 45-year-old rapper was told that it is a public place and they had a right to capture pictures. "There's a hundred of us," replied the paparazzo to West's questioning him saying, “You want me to be running up on your kids’ games like that?.”
In a separate incident in August 2022, a man who asked West for an autograph was allegedly punched by the rapper, according to the news outlet. Relating to the incident, West did not face any criminal charges and at the time, his attorney Michael Goldstein said, “We are satisfied with this resolution as it recognizes my client did nothing wrong.”
'Folks call him crazy'
Netizens took to Twitter with their mixed reactions to West's decision on reporting the paparazzi to police following the scuffle at Sunset Boulevard. One Twitter user wrote, "Now playing the innocent," and another wrote, "This dude is full-on psychotic. He really needs to be committed," while someone opined, "No, they should just leave this man alone."

Supporting the rapper's decision, one user wrote, "When Kanye West says no paparazzi, folks call him crazy. You can’t tell who’s friend or foe, The world is a crazy place, You don’t know people like that. A fan of John Lennon shot and killed John Lennon." A user tweeted, "Just lease a cell there, you'll at least save on transportation," while someone commented, "Smile and wave that's all you have to do easily. Quit being a dork."
