YORK, ENGLAND: Netflix launched its highly awaited rom-com movie, 'How to Date Billy Walsh', on Friday, April 5. However, the movie disappointed fans who were looking forward to a great romantic comedy.

Featuring a stellar lineup of comedy stars, including Kunal Nayyar, Nick Frost, and Guz Khan, 'How to Date Billy Walsh' aimed to entertain viewers but fell short of expectations.

Directed by Alex Pillai, this rom-com revolves around Archie (Sebastian Croft), a teen secretly in love with his best friend, Amelia Brown (Charithra Chandran). Enter Billy Walsh (Tanner Buchanan), the new guy in town who captures Amelia's interest and leaves Archie feeling devastated.

Fans slam 'How to Date Billy Walsh' for its uninteresting plot

Fans took to X to share their disappointment with the movie as one said, "I was so excited for how to date Billy Walsh but idk it didn’t hit for me like why the hell was he making her do all that embarrassing s**t? Like I had so much second hand embarrassment," while another wrote, "How to date billy walsh is such a painful movie to watch I have 35 mins left and idk if I can get through it."

"Someone please tell me I’m not the only one cringing at How to Date Billy Walsh rn," commented a viewer, while a fan replied, "Stop it was so bad." Meanwhile, one fan wrote, "Watching how to date billy walsh and it’s sooo bad."

A user who criticized the plot of the movie said, "My teen made me watch 'How To Date Billy Walsh' and there's a plot hole HowToDateBillyWalsh The whole thing is far too slapstick for me and the swearing and vulgarity seemed tacked on with none of the wit of American Pie." What is the plot of 'How to Date Billy Walsh'?

Teenagers Amelia (Charithra Chandran) and Archie (Sebastian Croft) have been best friends since childhood, always supporting each other. However, Archie has never mustered the courage to confess his love for Amelia. 

Just as Archie gathers the courage to express his feelings, Amelia falls for new American student Billy Walsh (Tanner Buchanan). Despite Archie's sincere efforts to keep them apart, his actions inadvertently draw Amelia and Billy closer together.
