'Industry' Episode 2: Yasmin and Robert take their flirtation to the next level while Harper continues to struggle
'Industry' episode 2 will see interesting leads appear, as far as the official synopsis tells us. The official synopsis for the upcoming episode is, "With Harper (Myha’la Herrold) struggling to find her feet in a new city, Pierpoint throws a morale-boosting appreciation dinner which sees her challenging a drunken, irate Kenny (Conor MacNeill), while Gus (David Jonsson) alienates senior management by discussing his team’s future. Meanwhile, Yasmin (Marisa Abela) comes face to face with the culture of her new team and takes her flirtation with Robert (Harry Lawtey) to risky new heights."
At the end of episode 1, we saw how Harper had taken the small victory of signing on her first client Nicole with an idea that was hers alone. She had celebrated it by booking a hotel room and enjoying a burger as if it was the last thing that she would do. Then, there is also the matter of the fake transcripts that she had finally uploaded onto her office's human resources site. The HR had been behind her from the very beginning regarding the transcripts, and if she had delayed the submission any further, it would have resulted in unemployment; so it looks like Harper has built the courage to face the consequences of committing fraud at the workplace to gain employment.
All of this must-have influenced her enough to struggle. In addition to pressure at the workplace, Harper must also get used to a new city. She has moved to London from New York just to be able to join Pierpoint and all of this seems to be weighing her down because she seems to be taking it out on Kenny. He may have deserved it, considering we know how Kenny has come off as sexist so far, especially with the way he has treated Yasmin as nothing but a lunch girl. However, is it smart to make enemies so soon after entering a new place of work?
Not only her, but it also seems that Gus has taken it a bit too far with his own team. After the death of Hari, who used to sit right by his side at work, it is not possible that Gus would be unaffected. So, his analysis of his team's future may also be influenced by his. Whatever it is, he will alienate the senior management and that's definitely going to affect his position within the company.
Finally, Yasmin and Robert. The two of them have been giving off flirty vibes and in the upcoming episode will this flirtation move to the next level. How will their relationship influence their professional choices is something we will see soon.
