'I’m innocent': Internet divided over Andrew Tate's claim as he appears in court to fight detention
BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Andrew Tate, the controversial influencer and accused sex-traffic rapist announced his innocence on his arrival in Romania as he faces court to fight detention. Social media rallied with mixed responses either supporting or opposing the US-born former kickboxer, as he yelled “You know I’m innocent!” at reporters gathered outside the court.
The incident took place while he and his younger brother, Tristan Tate handcuffed together were led out of a prison van and were walking to the court. Tate's rumored girlfriend and a female former police officer are the other two accused who appeared in court to appeal a detention extension of 30 days for the second time. Since an early morning raid, they were taken into custody on December 29. “There is not much justice in Romania,” said the 36-year-old incendiary influencer when he was asked if he expected he will be freed on Wednesday, February 1 while he was on his way into the Bucharest Court of Appeal.

'An organized crime group'
Prosecutors of the Romanian court accused Tate of creating “an organized crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialized websites for a cost.”
Tate previously claimed innocence while he was on his way out of a court hearing as he said, “Ask them for evidence and they will give you none because it doesn’t exist. You’ll find out the truth of this case soon.” The decision on the appeal on detention for the notorious misogynist, his brother, and their alleged accomplices is yet to be decided by the judge on Wednesday, February 1, according to Daily Mail.
'Just hate against an alpha male'
Following Tate declaring again that he is innocent, social media went divided by his comment made to the reporters. One social media user wrote, "Yep, he is. There's no evidence of any crime," and another wrote, "Like every criminal always" while someone opined, "Just hate against an alpha male!"
"I'm pretty sure they wouldn't arrest him if they weren't 100% sure they can get him condemned. He can't gaslight his way out of this one," a user tweeted and another wrote, "Everything I've learned about his personal life since his arrest has just made me think he's guilty as hell."

"Oh we know what you are Andrew," wrote a user while another opined, "He says plenty of drivel but also makes a lot of sense. Can't help but think that he’s the victim of some sort of complot in plain sight. They would have been already tried in court if those serious allegations had real substance. Instead, they keep getting paraded like trophies." A user remarked, "That's what they all say," and someone wrote, "There is a vast difference between being innocent and thinking that what you did wasn't wrong."
