Ice Spice set to debut in Spike Lee's 'High and Low' remake, Internet gushes over her 'big moves'

'High and Low' will first hit theaters through A24 before it becomes available globally on Apple TV+

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ice Spice is all set to make her acting debut in Spike Lee's new film, an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's 'High and Low'. The film stars Denzel Washington, marking the fifth time he has worked with Lee. Production is already underway, with Variety reporting that filming has begun.

The movie, a partnership between Apple Original Films and A24, will first hit theaters through A24 before it becomes available globally on Apple TV+. Celebrating the start of production, Apple Original Films shared a picture on X of Washington and Lee, on Wednesday, April 10, captioned, "No. 5 now in production."

'High and Low', originally released in 1963, tells the dramatic tale of a businessman who faces ruin after paying a ransom to kidnappers. The film's production team includes producer Todd Black and executive producers Peter Guber, Matthew Lindner, Chris Brigham, and Katia Washington.

Ice Spice makes her acting debut in 'High and Low' 

On Thursday, April 11, Variety announced on X that Ice Spice would join Denzel Washington in Spike Lee's upcoming film, an English-language adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's 'High and Low'. The post read, "EXCLUSIVE: Ice Spice is set to appear in Spike Lee's upcoming English-language reinterpretation of the Akira Kurosawa crime thriller 'High and Low'."

Ice Spice reposted the news on her own X account, confirming her involvement and expressing her excitement about her Hollywood debut to her followers.

Many fans flocked to X to share their excitement upon hearing the news, with one saying, "This girl really making big moves my GOD not one misstep so far," while another wrote, "This is great, should be a nice challenge to push Ice Spice’s career.
