‘I was a kid and I was not ready for that’: Paris Hilton reveals she had abortion in her early 20s
MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Paris Hilton, 42, in a recent explosive yet candid interview revealed that she almost became a mother in her early 20s and had to go through an abortion. One of the four Hilton Hotels scions, Paris recalled, “I was a kid and I was not ready for that.”
The hotel mogul, who did not share this sensitive and personal information in the past, felt the need to talk about this until Roe vs Wade was overturned last year. “This was also something that I didn’t want to talk about because there was so much shame around that,” said 'The Simple Life' star. The US Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe vs Wade, which put a question mark on a woman’s rights on her body made the star raise awareness on the same.

Emphasizing on the autonomy of a woman’s body, she told Glamour, “There’s just so much politics around it and all that, but it’s a woman’s body… Why should there be a law based on that? It’s your body, your choice and I really believe in that.” She added, “It’s your body, your choice and I really believe in that. It’s mind-boggling to me that they’re making laws about what you do with your reproductive health, because if it were the other way around with the guys, it would not be this way at all.”
Talking about her past
In her recent interview, the socialite admits to being abused multiple times during her teen years. Once opening up about one of the two harrowing incidents that happened when she was just 15, Hilton said, “I was just such a young girl and I got manipulated by my teacher.” Further elaborating, she shares, “He took advantage of a young girl and that was something I blocked out as well, I didn’t remember it until years later. He would call me on the phone all the time, just flirting with me, trying to put in my mind that I was this mature woman.”
Talking about her first sexual encounter that left a bitter taste and later influenced her life, Paris said, “I remembered it. I have visions of him on top of me, covering my mouth, being like, ‘You’re dreaming, you’re dreaming,’ and whispering that in my ear.” That not only scarred her for life but also made her feel pathetic about herself.
Later channelising her hurt and bitter experiences of her past, she turned to advocacy work regarding troubled youth by “lobbying congress to reform laws governing youth facilities and campaigning for the Stop Institutional Child Abuse bill”, reports Independent. On that, she says, “I feel most empowered when I’m doing my advocacy work, she says. “Knowing that I can be the hero I always needed when I was a little girl.”
