'I can't wait': Rumer Willis thrilled about first pregnancy, says she always 'wanted to be a mom'
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Rumer Willis is set to become a mother for the first time and has admitted that she has always been ready to take on that role. The 34-year-old actress is expecting her first child with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas.
In a Thursday episode of Peggy Rometo and Kimberly Van Der Beek's podcast 'Bathroom Chronicles', the star spoke candidly for the first time about her pregnancy journey and expressed how excited she is to finally become a mom. Willis revealed that she always had sights on becoming a mother. "It's like one of those weird things that I know sometimes people have such clarity about, like 'Oh, I want to be a musician, I want this,' and it was never a question for me that I wanted to be a mom," she said on Thursday, February 9, as per People. "And that just felt like such a divine purpose and something that when I started thinking about it, felt like such joy."

'I can't wait'
Willis further detailed all the special moments that she "can't wait" to create with her new baby while recalling a recent conversation she shared with Thomas about becoming a parent. "I was talking to my partner the other day and saying, 'You know, when I go to the farmers market, I call it church because I leave and I feel so excited,' " she said. "And the idea of being able to bring my kids in like a little cart or something brings me so much delight, I can't even ... I can't wait."
Willis experienced a 'different operating system'
Willis talked further about all the changes she has felt and made within herself since she became pregnant. "It's made me upgrade so fast, like things where I used to have such a nature to be people pleasing or to not stand up for myself for little things that then would kind of get under my skin," she said, as per the outlet. "I would say literally, maybe even a week after I got pregnant, all of a sudden, it was like, no, no, that's not going to work for me anymore."
'The House Bunny' actress clarified how she had a “different operating system," and said, "This is what I need to do to reorient this and speak up for myself. It was like a new equation and a new puzzle all of a sudden downloaded.”
Willis and Thomas announced they're expecting in December
Willis and Thomas announced that they are expecting their first child right before Christmas at the end of last year by sharing a carousel of black and white photos highlighting her baby bum which her boyfriend held affectionately while kissing. Willis' mom, Demi Moore, who will become a first-time grandparent along with her former husband Bruce Willis, re-shared their announcement post on her own Instagram. "Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era," Moore wrote alongside the couple's photos.
