Who is Dimone Fleming? 'Erratic' mom asked for mercy on social media before her 2 sons were fatally stabbed
THE BRONX, NEW YORK CITY: A mother who allegedly stabbed her two young sons to death in their New York City apartment had asked for 'mercy' and 'repented all wrong doings' just hours prior to the ordeal. Dimone Fleming, 22, is suspected to have killed three-year-old Deshawn Fleming and 11-month-old Octavius Canada before concealing their corpses in the bathtub at the Bronx homeless shelter.
It was Fleming's boyfriend Columbus Canada who discovered the lifeless bodies of his children after the authorities missed their bodies during their first visit to the scene. The 22-year-old's family has now disclosed that she often spoke about demons and considered her toddlers 'devils'. Just hours before the bloodbath, Fleming posted a final message on her Facebook profile. "It's only one true God and I repent from all wrong doings and negative influence. Leaving all things that's no longer serves me...Thank you for your mercy", she wrote at 6 am the morning of the murder.

According to Daily Mail, the witnesses living in the building told that the mother was holding her head and shouting, "What did I do? What did I do?" in the hallway just moments before the police first arrived at the scene. No charges have been made on Fleming as she has not yet been declared an official suspect and remains in custody as a person of interest in the case.
The father reportedly had gotten into a verbal altercation with Fleming the day before and left the home a day prior and stayed in his car overnight. Octavius’ great aunt, Casey Canada, said Fleming believed that her children were 'demons.' "She thought the kids were devils. She said she was afraid of them", Casey said. "She definitely loved them for sure. That wasn’t fake."
The woman was found naked in the kitchen lighting objects on fire by the police upon arrival. They had to wait for half an hour before taking her into custody. The boy's father returned just 10 minutes after officers left and found the two children unresponsive in the apartment. Around 7.55 pm he called the officers back. At 11 pm, Deputy Chief Louis De Ceglie of Patrol Borough Bronx said on Saturday, November 26, outside the building at 246 Echo Place that the mom is currently in custody as a person of interest.
"Officers arrived and found a 22-year-old female naked inside of the apartment on the third floor acting irrational", Chief De Ceglie told reporters. "The officers took the female into custody without incident, and awaited the response of the ambulance." De Ceglie said the initial report received by officers had warned of a "female acting erratic, but non-violent," with no weapons.
It was probably due to the bodies of the boys being stashed in the bathroom that the authorities may have missed noticing their bodies upon their first stop at the home. Police failed to resuscitate the children despite being administered.
