LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Let's be real, 'The Boys' of Amazon has amazed everyone with their exceptional storyline. As a new season is incoming let's decode what happened with one of the quietest supe, Black Noir. The series follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities. The series features an ensemble cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Nathan Mitchell.

Speaking of the cast, it was announced Nathan Mitchell (who portrayed the masked Black Noir in the first three seasons), despite his character's death in the third season, would continue to portray a new replacement Black Noir in a main capacity in the fourth season of the series. In August 2022, it was reported that Cameron Crovetti had been promoted as a series regular while Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward were cast as new series regulars for the fourth season. Later that month, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast in an undisclosed role as well as, Rosemarie DeWitt, Rob Benedict, and Elliot Knight joined the cast in undisclosed capacities for the fourth season.

Critical mission or contrived excuse?

As we know,  in 'The Boys' season 2's premiere, Homelander announced his fellow Seven heroes had been killed by a super-terrorist called El Diablo, insinuating the covert mission went awry and holding a public funeral service in Translucent's honor. Perhaps what can be concluded is that 'The Boys' may be heading toward a similar outcome for Black Noir in Season 4, with this so-called overseas mission being used as a contrived excuse for the death of the Seven's quietest hero. This would conceal the fact that Noir died actually by Homelander's hand just as Vought dimmed how Translucent was anally eviscerated by Hughie.

Who is Black Noir?

Earving, better known as Black Noir, is a major antagonist in the Amazon series 'The Boys'. Served as a supporting antagonist in Season 1, the secondary antagonist in Season 2, and a major anti-villain in Season 3. He was a mute, darkly costumed superhero and a member of The Seven. Silent, stealthy, and enigmatic, Black Noir was The Seven’s superpowered ninja. His super strength and heightened senses were matched only by his proficiency in martial arts. Criminals ran in terror at the mere mention of his name. Little is known about this lethal warrior, other than having trained with a master sensei to become the death dealer he used to be. To the public whatever lies behind Black Noir’s mask is a complete mystery – which only made him more terrifying.

Even if 'The Boys' season 4 appears to be repeating Translucent's death cover-up, therefore, the end result could be very different. Regardless, the series has received positive reviews and praise for its writing, storyline, humor, and performances of the cast. The series was nominated for six Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2021. Furthermore, expanding its wings 'The Boys' has three spin-offs. A web series, 'Seven on 7,' an animated anthology series, 'Diabolical,' and lastly, a second live-action television series, 'Gen V'.
