LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Diane McBain died on Wednesday, December 21, at the age of 81. Her confidante Michael Gregg Michaud who revealed she died at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills. The actress was popularly known for appearing alongside Elvis Presley in the 1966 film 'Spinout' which opened several doors in her career such as serving on the board of directors of the Screen Actors Guild.

The 81-year-old actress, who also played the role of Pinky Pinkston in the television series 'Batman' which ran from 1966 for three seasons, was a blonde beauty remembered for her work like 'Surfside 6' and was one of the '60s glamor girls. It all began in 1959 when she starred in the ABC series 'Maverick' opposite James Garner. She then joined 'Surfout 6' and appeared in the series from 1960 to 1962 in 45 episodes of the show, alongside Troy Donahue, Van Williams, and Lee Patterson. McBain's 2014 memoir 'Famous Enough' was co-authored by Michaud who revealed that the actress started out as a model. She signed a seven-year deal with Warner Bros Studios after turning 18 in 1959.

The actress died of liver cancer. As reported by Deadline, McBain's confidante Michaud said, "It is with great sadness that I report actress Diane McBain lost her battle with liver cancer and passed away on December 21, 2022." McBain had health issues for some time and she had hinted toward the same in an interview with Boomer Magazine revealing that she decided to move into a cabin for 15 years after she was done with the industry. McBain reportedly had a bad experience serving on the board of directors of the Screen Actors Guild in 2001.

After her time at SAG, she moved to Pine Mountain Village. She told Boomer last year, "I got a little cabin, moved in, and lived there for 15 years. I just loved it and especially the white Christmases in the mountains. But age was catching up with me and I had some health issues so that’s why I moved to the retirement facility. I still live independently and am enjoying my time here very much. It’s serving my health issues well." She played the titular role in the 1961 motion picture 'Claudelle Inglish', the 1961 movie 'Parrish', and on nine episodes of '77 Sunset Strip' from 1959 to 1963.
