'The Penguin' makers looking to cast a MAJOR character from 'The Batman'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert Pattinson starring in 'The Batman' was the beginning of a new era after we witnessed Christian Bale playing 'The Dark Knight' for so long. However, like Adele's song 'Rumor has it', 'The Penguin's makers are rumored to be casting for the role of Salvatore Maroni. In case, you didn't know, after 'Pennyworth', a new Batman universe-oriented show is coming on HBO and HBO Max. 'The Penguin' will soon begin principal photography, expanding upon the new cinematic world introduced in Matt Reeves' 'The Batman'.
In the Pattinson starring movie, we witnessed Batman, who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncover corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite. Colin Farrel was seen as Penguin in the movie and will be reprising his role in the HBO Max series. However, the Colin Farrell-starring series already has at least one recasting up its sleeve. Before the massive success of Dwayne Johnson's 'Black Adam', Pattinson's 'The Batman' was the first access into Matt Reeves’ new DC universe. 'The Batman' was a massive success, which laid the groundwork for new projects like 'The Penguin'.

According to a new report from The Illuminerdi, the producer is currently casting for the role of Salvatore Maroni, the don from the Maroni crime family. A longtime villain of Batman, Maroni technically appeared in 'The Batman', portrayed by an uncredited actor in a series of news clippings. Given Maroni is set to have a major role in the upcoming series, it appears the streamer wants to attach a prominent name to the position.
Salvatore Vincent Maroni is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Batman. The substantial character is portrayed as an infamous gangster of Italian descent in Gotham City and an enemy of Batman. Meanwhile, 'The Penguin' is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of Batman.
Up until now, Penguin's live-action portrayals include Burgess Meredith in the 1960s 'Batman' television series and its spin-off film, Danny DeVito in 'Batman Returns', Robin Lord Taylor in the television series 'Gotham' and Colin Farrell in 'The Batman' as well as the character's upcoming eponymous television series.
When we last saw the Penguin, he was stuck in the middle of a murder case Batman (Robert Pattinson) was trying to solve and ended up coming out on top of it all. There's no word on when 'The Penguin' takes place and no plot details are known at this time, but if rumors are to be believed, the series is shaping up to be incredible.
