'Hospital Playlist' Season 2 Episode 1 shows love and heartbreak for the doctors

'Hospital Playlist' Season 2 Episode 2 sees the team of doctors have a tough day at work

In this episode, fans finally get a glimpse of the 'Winter Garden' couple. After Jeong-won told the gang that he was seeing Gyeo-wool, the pair decided that it was best to keep their relationship under wraps. But it turns out they have grown so comfortable around each other; they tend to give their relationship status away. Thankfully, everyone sees Jeong-won as a saint of a man and writes it off as him being a gentleman toward Gyeo-wool. Ik-jun nearly blows their cover when he makes a joke about them dating while at a meeting with senior doctors, but all of them laugh it off due to Ik-jun's funny nature.

Speaking of which, Ik-jun genuinely shines in this entire episode as it focuses on just how selfless he is. Even when he feels bad that he has to leave his son and rush to the hospital, U-ju tells him that he understands that his dad is doing good deeds and helping the world. Song-hwa also relies on him, seeing that they found a patient via the Daddy Long Legs project in desperate need of help.

Ik-jun doesn't hesitate to take on the case, even though the patient belongs to his former 'rival' Hyeong-do (Ik-jun admits he never saw him as a rival, although the gang jokes that he was always trying to outsmart Ik-jun). When Chief Kwon asks him to operate on his brother, Ik-jun agrees, making time for everyone who needs him. Although the last episode had fans hoping that Song-hwa saying 'I like you' was directed at Ik-jun, it turns out, she was referring to the song they'd be performing.

However, we do get a tender moment -- Song-hwa meets Yoo Gyeong-jin's brother while she's being discharged. The two grab a coffee while he apologizes for his mother forcing her to date him, confessing that he is already in a relationship. His mother doesn't like his current girlfriend even though she has known her for a long time. Song-hwa then learns that Gyeong-jin's brother and his girlfriend were college best friends who then began dating.

He then tells Song-hwa that she confessed to him and initially he rejected her until he realized that she makes him happy. He asks Song-hwa if she has anyone special like that -- it's then that she sees Ik-jun, who is up to his antics and makes her laugh. The scene implies that maybe Song-hwa might see him as more than her 'best friend'.

This episode was a tough one for Jun-wan, seeing that he finds out that Ik-sun has gotten into an accident that she has sustained a head injury. He cannot speak to her but finds out about the news from Se-gyeong, who claims to be her only friend in the UK. Jun-wan still seems extremely upset as per the preview, which leads to the question, did something happen to Ik-sun, or is her friendship with Se-gyeong worrying Jun-wan?

'Hospital Playlist' Season 2, new episodes can be streamed on Netflix on Thursdays.
