The news of the legendary actress' death was confirmed by her daughter Claudia Cowan to Fox News on Sunday, March 31, 2024. "My wonderful mother passed away peacefully at 5:28 this evening. I was with her this morning and know she was waiting for me to return home safely to transition," Claudia told the media outlet.
Rush's daughter Claudia further added, "It’s fitting she chose to leave on Easter as it was one of her favorite holidays and now, of course, Easter will have a deeper significance for me and my family." Throughout her illustrious career, Rush appeared in movies with iconic Hollywood actors such as Paul Newman, Rock Hudson, Dean Martin, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, and Richard Burton.

In the post, she had expressed the importance of spending time with elderly parents and how her mother knew she loved her. "Time with my mom is extra special these days. As her clock slowly winds down, I am visiting her as much as possible so that she knows how much I love and appreciate her. And, so that I know in my heart, neither of us has to worry,” she wrote in the post.

Rush’s health started declining when she had been isolating herself in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. She had also posted a video on YouTube, hoping to soothe her worried well-wishers by letting them know that she was single and never going out to avoid being infected.
