'His House': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Netflix's horror movie

With Halloween just around the corner, movie buffs must be busy making a list of films to catch up on. To make your holiday experience special yet scary, Netflix is premiering its supernatural horror film ‘His House’ on the occasion of Halloween. If you're planning on adding this to your list of movies, here's everything you need to know about ‘His House’ ahead of its release. 

Release date 

‘His House’ will be available to stream on October 31 on Netflix only. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27. 

Plot 

The official synopsis for ‘His House’ reads: "As a young refugee couple tries to start over in England, they’re tormented by a sinister force tied to the horrors they escaped in war-torn South Sudan."

Cast 

Wunmi Mosaku

Wunmi Mosaku is a Nigerian-born British actress and singer, best known for her roles as Joy in BBC Two miniseries ‘Moses Jones’ and Holly Lawson in ITV series ‘Vera’. She is the recipient of the 2017 BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing Gloria Taylor in the television film ‘Damilola’, Our Loved Boy’. She featured in the fifth series of ‘Luther’ in 2019. 

Sope Dirisu

Sope Dirisu is a 29-year-old English actor who made his debut in films in 2016 with ‘Criminal’. After finishing his training in the REP company program for eight months, he acted in many television series including ‘The Mill’, ‘Utopia’, ‘Humans’, ‘The Casual Vacancy’ and ‘Undercover’. Dirisu’s film credits include ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’, ‘Sand Castle and most recent ‘His House’. 

Matt Smith

English actor Matt Smith is popular for his role as the eleventh incarnation of the doctor in BBC’s ‘Doctor Who’. He is also widely recognized for essaying Prince Pilipin in Netflix’s ’The Crown’, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award. Smith’s first role was as Jim Taylor in BBC’s ‘The Ruby in the Smoke’. Whereas, his first major role was as Danny in ‘Party Animals’. He has acted in films including ‘Official Secrets’, ‘Charlie Says’, ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ and ‘Terminator Genisys’. 

Creators 

‘His House’ is directed by Remi Weekes, while Aidan Elliott, Martin Gentles, Arnon Milchan, Ed King and Roy Lee have served as the producers. 

Trailer 

The official trailer for ‘His House’ was released on September 30 by Netflix. The video sees a young refugee couple struggle to adjust to their new property in England after escaping the horror of a war-torn South Sudan. As days progress, they begin to witness strange happenings and paranormal activities in their new house, as unspeakable evils begin to lurk beneath the surface.
