NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hilaria Baldwin was slammed on the internet for comparing herself to Meghan Markle after appearing at the 2022 Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala on Tuesday, December 6. The 38-year-old reportedly wrote a post praising her, stating that they shared a "common humanity." Nearly two years after leaving their positions as senior royals, Meghan and Prince Harry received an "anti-racism" award at the gala.

"One of my favorite nights of the year. Grateful to be around people helping others and giving hope, carrying on the legacy of RFK," wrote the yoga instructor on Instagram on Wednesday, December 7, after attending the event with her husband Alec, as per the Daily Mail.

'We both have had our dark and suicidal thoughts'

The 38-year-old yoga instructor wrote, "Meghan and Harry were honored and they spoke about mental health, humanity, and being open…so we know that we aren’t alone. So we can help others with a road map of hope for struggles we may also be experiencing." She added, "Meghan’s perseverance through bullying has given me courage to persevere through the harassment I have experienced. We both have had our dark and suicidal thoughts from being picked apart, all the while, just wanting to be human."

'I see our common humanity'

Stating they had a "common humanity", Baldwin wrote, "Her intention of sharing her story to help others has helped me, even though our circumstances and particular struggles are different. I see our common humanity. I hope when I open up about my struggles, this helps some of you too, as it is my intention. I’m grateful to all of you who show me kindness and positivity. Yes, there is much negativity in the world, but there are also amazing people, showing that we are all in this together. We just have to open up, see our common humanity, be kind, and help each other."

However, netizens trolled her for comparing herself to Meghan. One person tweeted, "Hilaria Baldwin on Extra compared herself to Meghan Markle and said they both married famous men and then were bullied. As though neither woman had anything to do with WHY they were criticized. Funny, Hillary! Also liked when you said you were "not OK", a la Meghan in SA."

Another said, "Hilaria is absolutely correct. She and Meghan are exactly alike. Two frauds." Another added, "She’s got that right!! They are both proven liars and fake so yes, they are just alike!! Both like to play the victim too!!" Another person added, "We all see their common Narcissism - while Hilaria sees their 'common humanity.'" Another person penned, "These people are all as deluded as each, can't we ship them all off to their own secluded island to leave us all in peace, pretty please..."

"The great 'anti-racists.' Marry wealthy white men," another wrote, while yet another chimed in, "Twin fakes: 'I see our common humanity': Hilaria Baldwin likens herself to Meghan Markle and reflects on pair enduring 'bullying and dark thoughts' - after attending gala honoring Suits star and Prince Harry. Awarding irrelevancy and poseurs." Another user said, "Dear God. One's enough. We really don't need another." One user joked, "Same. I’m Megan Markle."
