LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lifetime is wooing everyone with its fresh new catalog this season. Be it thriller drama or romantic comedy, Lifetime has gotten it all cued. A recent movie which was added to Lifetime's preexisting bomb menu is ‘Hidden Murder Island’ is a thriller drama movie that follows two friends: one is Allie Forsberg's Fey and other is Maddie — who get attacked out of nowhere while camping. Unfortunately, only Fey survives the attack as a stranger from deep in the woods arrives at the scene for rescue. Regardless, the movie stars Andrea Bogart in the lead role, along with various others portraying important supporting characters. It is helmed by Damian Romay and written by Richard Lister. Is 'Hidden Murder Island' based on a true story?

LMN's new thriller movie, 'Hidden Murder Island,' is all set to premiere on Thursday, April 27, 2023. The film, which is inspired by a true story, focuses on two women who are brutally attacked while camping. One of them dies while the other is saved by a stranger.

The survivor suffers from amnesia and the rest of the film depicts how she tries to figure out what happened to her on that fateful day. Here's the official synopsis of the movie, as per LMN:

''Inspired by a true story. When two women are attacked while camping, only one makes it out alive–saved by a stranger deep in the woods. Now, back at her parents’ luxurious island estate and suffering from amnesia, she’ll search for answers about what really happened and discover the dark deed goes deeper than she could ever have imagined…''

What was the real life event?

As per The Advertiser, The two young women were apparently joined by their alleged attacker on the same day of the attack at the isolated Tea Tree Point beach near Salt Creek on the Coorong. However, unlike the Lifetime movie, in real life the two young women were immediately taken to Flinders Medical Centre, where their conditions were declared stable. In fact, the alleged attacker was charged with multiple offenses, and one of them was attempted murder and unlawful detention.

'Hidden Murder Island' is now streaming on Lifetime.
