Word is that Henry Cavill could make an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Deadline reported a rumor that sparked buzz on social media saying that the 'Man of Steel' will be in Hall H during the Warner Bros Theatrical panel on July 23. The franchise will provide its film slate that includes 'Black Adam' and Shazam! Fury of the Gods'.

Earlier, it was reported that there wouldn't be any WB or DC panels, with the film section in doubt as well. That said, the news has been rather unsurprising for fans who feel much of DC's presentations will happen during the DC Fandome. The SDCC 2022 is slated to start on July 21 and will go on till July 24.

Will Henry Cavill return as Man of Steel in the DCEU?

Cavill first played the character in director Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel' in 2013 and reprised the role in Ben Affleck's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 2017's 'Justice League'. While the character made cameos in 'Shazam!' and HBO Max's John Cena-starrer, Peacemaker, Cavill did not play the part with body doubles playing the faceless version. However, Cavill is committed to playing the Superman of the DCEU. In 2019, the English actor quashed widely-reported rumors he was hanging up the cape, telling Men's Health that "The cape is in the closet."

"It's still mine. I'm not going to sit quietly in the dark as all the stuff is going on. I've not given up the role," Cavill said. "There's a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honest of the character I wasn't to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That's important to me. There's a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You'll see."

Only time will tell if he indeed returns for another outing.
