Disney bought Marvel in 2009 and everything changed. The production company started changing all the strategies and started the journey with movies such as ‘Iron Man 2’, ‘Thor’, and ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’. However, they took the world by storm with ‘The Avengers’ movie and everyone knew that Marvel Cinematic Universe is in safe hands now. Over the years, Marvel and Disney have teamed up to give some of the biggest blockbusters in recent times. Apart from that, the movies and every other project were advertised in a supreme manner and everyone related to these projects never really shied away from talking about them.

Lately, fans have realized that the Marvel movies have lost their touch and the entire advertising campaign looks aimless. Viewers are not happy with the stories that are being told and how makers are handling the new slate of movies, criticizing where the MCU is going. If you are one of those who believe the same way, then Russo Brothers have something to share with you.

Russo Brothers directed some of the biggest Marvel movies in recent years, including ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Their movies dominated the box office and also received good word-of-mouth from the critics. ‘Endgame’ was the conclusion of Phase 3 and just like everyone, the duo also had high expectations from Phase 4. But they realize that things might be a little different when someone tries to do something different and they believe that Marvel is doing the same.

In a recent interview with NBC, the Russo Brothers indicated that they have heard all the complaints regarding Phase 4, but they are not worried and haven’t “lost faith”. The duo also praised the new “ambitious” nature and revealed things are going to get better soon.
“Here’s the thing. The entire life of the MCU has seen ups and downs, there’s going to naturally be an ebb and flow to how people are feeling about it based on the latest offering. But I think – look, at end of the day, they’re still being very ambitious in terms of how they approach the storytelling. They are being experimental. They’re looking for new forms of expressions to keep audiences excited and surprised,” the Russo Brothers explained.

‘The Gray Man’ helmers also noted that there’s still a ‘lot of hope’ with what’s happening in the MCU and their “faith” still lies with everyone working hard to make audiences happy.

Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe started with the movie ‘Black Widow’ and opened to generally positive reviews. Meanwhile, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings’ turned out to be massive hits. However, ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness’ and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ received a lot of flak from the critics as well as audiences for being ridiculous and having below-average stories. Since then, fans have been really annoyed with the direction Marvel and Kevin Feige are headed to.

There’s a lot riding on upcoming movies like ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, ‘The Marvels’ and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’. Just like the Russo Brothers, we also hope that Marvel returns to its full glory soon.
