Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who were in the UK for Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebration, have been blasted online for reportedly traveling in private jets despite the couple pledging "towards a more sustainable future by becoming net zero by 2030.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly left for Britain in a private jet from Santa Barbara on Wednesday, June 1, and they also flied back private to California on Sunday, June 5, even before events honoring the Queen ended.

The Daily Mail reported that the pair along with their children – three-year-old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and one-year-old Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor – took off out of Farnborough Airport, west of London, at 1:30 pm. A source said, “There was no fanfare, they just went. They didn't stick around for the Platinum Jubilee pageant which is a celebration of Britain and all of its quirks and eccentricities over the Queen's 70 year reign.”

As per reports, the family of the Sussexes reached California at around six in the evening. They left for their home in a black Range Rover. However, what irked several people on the internet was the couple taking a private jet for their round trip despite claiming to “work to reach net zero carbon emissions by the end of this decade”. In November last year, Harry and Meghan on their their Archewell site shared, “As global leaders convene for COP26 to commit to solutions for our climate crisis, all of us at Archewell, led by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, share our pledge towards a more sustainable future by becoming net zero by 2030.”

“Achieving net zero carbon emissions means making a series of choices over time to make that footprint as small as possible, while compensating for any remaining emissions through high-quality carbon removal projects,” they added.

But their latest travel arrangements have been slammed as a critic tweeted: “Prince Harry and Meghan spotted after touching down in their private JET back in US from Jubilee trip  DONT EVER LECTURE ANYONE AGAIN ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVER AGAIN!!!!! HYPOCRITE 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️.” The second critic said, “They couldn't give a frigg about the planet.” The third one wrote, “Prince Harry calls for action over words on Climate change and to help his cause he and Meghan take a private jet to the Queen’s Jubilee. 😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡.”
