Hank Green, a famous YouTuber revealed on Friday, May 19, that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Green describes his blood cancer diagnosis in the video blog ‘So, I've Got Cancer’, which began when he discovered swollen lymph nodes.

1. Hank Green interviewed Barack Obama

Hank had the chance to speak with former US President Barack Obama back in 2015. As YouTube stars Green, GloZell, and Bethany Mota sat down for one-on-one interviews to discuss everything from education and the deadlock in Washington to Cuba policy and how to get more young people interested in politics, over 500,000 viewers tuned in live.



 

2. Hank Green has a brother

John Green, a novelist, blogger, and writer, is Hank's brother. John is the author of the best-selling books 'Looking for Alaska', 'An Abundance of Katherines', 'Paper Towns', and 'The Fault in Our Stars' on the New York Times bestseller list.

Back in 2010, Hank and his brother, John, created VidCon, a yearly gathering of web businesses, executives, and fans. The main performers at the event are well-known online video stars. VidCon was reintroduced in October 2020 as a continuous, free digital service.



 

3. Graduated from Winter Park High School

In Birmingham, Alabama, the United States, on May 5, 1980, Hank was given the name William Henry Green II. His family moved to Orlando, Florida following his birth, and there he was raised. Hank received his diploma from Winter Park High School in 1988. He afterward enrolled at Eckerd College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.

4. Hank's tribute to Harry Potter 

Hank gained popularity when he and his brother John formed Brotherhood 2.0 on YouTube in January 2007 and maintained it throughout the year. Additionally, on July 18, 2007, he released a video on YouTube in which he performed "Accio Deathly Hallows," a tribute to the seventh Harry Potter novel.

5. Battle with ulcerative colitis and ADHD 

In 2006, Green received a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. He also had a childhood diagnosis of a learning impairment, which he believes was caused by ADHD.
